Dept of WTF?: Black Americans demand to know what 'Black jobs' are after Trump debate comment

Black Americans demand to know what ‘Black jobs’ are after Trump debate comment - The Hill

“They’re taking Black jobs now and it could be 18, it could be 19 and even 20 million people. They’re taking Black jobs, and they’re taking Hispanic jobs, and you haven’t seen it yet, but you’re gonna see something that’s going to be the worst in our history.”

“What exactly are Black and Hispanic Jobs!?!” the NAACP posted to X.

Jaime Harrison, chairman of the Democratic National Committee, agreed, posting: “What the hell is a “Black job?!”

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) said that she wished CNN’s moderators had asked for clarification on the comment.

To Trump, Black and Hispanic jobs means any low paid job without benefits.

If Trump thinks that immigrants are taking away jobs from citizens, why didn't he say, "They're taking Americans' jobs"? Why specifically "Black" jobs?

Immigrants and asylum seekers often take low paying jobs for a few reasons. It's hard for them to find work without citizenship or knowledge of English. They need work ASAP so they accept whatever they can get even if they had better jobs in their homeland. They work at those jobs while they learn English and get acclimated to American life so they can improve their situations.

In Trump's mind, those are the jobs that are "fitting" for US citizens who are Black and Hispanic, who know English and American life, who have job skills and educations for better jobs. Trump was saying that migrants who come to the US and take jobs as dishwashers, housekeepers, unskilled labor, etc. are taking jobs reserved for Blacks and Hispanics.

Does he really think that saying that endears him to Black and Hispanic voters?

But menial means low skill and training can do it. But lets put this in perspective, Trump could not clean a house. He could not mow a lawn, and it would be entertaining to watch him try and replace the string on a weed eater.

All he can do is lie and bluster. Sadly, while 40% of us can instantly see through it and know what he is instantly, He can utterly fool 40% and possibly get a pass on the 20% remaining. That is clearly and obviously his only talent.

he said stupid/ignorant/racist shit out loud too. Mostly the "N" word. And mostly directed at restaurant staff in the most embarrassing and humiliating of ways. Saw grandma almost stab him with a fork at a Sizzler's in the 70s. Yeah, his brain might have been addling, but he wouldn't have said it if it wasn't in his heart.

Wondering how trump is going to spin his way out of this hole.

Make no mistake, this is that man's vision for the US, back to the 1910s. It's pure evil and so is he.

Construction (framing, drywall, concrete), agriculture, restaurant kitchens, meat processing. Really tough, physical jobs.

But if the migrants coming to take those jobs are ALSO Hispanic?

I have no clue what Black Jobs are.

There are too many, and many many Hispanic workers here legally.

The subcontractors I see on my jobs aren't hiring workers who can't prove residency. There's too much regulation.

Decades-Old Housing Discrimination Case Plagues Donald Trump SEPTEMBER 29, 201610:22 PM ET

During the presidential debate on Monday night, Hillary Clinton raised a 1973 federal lawsuit brought against Donald Trump and his company for alleged racial discrimination at Trump housing developments in New York.

The Justice Department sued Donald Trump, his father, Fred, and Trump Management in order to obtain a settlement in which Trump and his father would promise not to discriminate. The case eventually was settled two years later after Trump tried to countersue the Justice Department for $100 million for making false statements. Those allegations were dismissed by the court.

"Donald started his career, back in 1973, being sued by the Justice Department for racial discrimination — because he would not rent apartments in one of his developments to African-Americans, and he made sure that the people who worked for him understood that was the policy," Clinton said on Monday night.

Trump responded to Clinton by emphasizing that the case was settled with no admission of guilt.

Oh wait, I got one already. And it pays well.

This Mexican ("Hispanic", "Latino", "LatinX", or whatever your term-of-the-week is now) had to turn down several jobs because one was too far away (they wouldn't pay for transportation even though I showed them how they could do it and minimize payroll taxes and other expenses while doing it), and the other was in another city.
