Real Time with Bill Maher continues its 22nd season Friday, June 28 (10:00-11:00 p.m. live ET/7:00-8:00 p.m. PT), with a replay at 11:30 p.m., exclusively on HBO.
This week features a one-on-one interview with Ray Kurzweil, inventor, futurist, and author of the New York Times bestseller The Singularity Is Nearer: When We Merge with AI.
This week's in-studio panel discussion will include Chris Matthews, longtime broadcaster, journalist, and author of This Country: My Life in Politics and History; and Tulsi Gabbard, four-term Hawaii congresswoman, 2020 presidential candidate, and author of For Love of Country: Leave the Democratic Party Behind.
Holy shit, Putin asset Tulsi Gabbard of all people. Between her and Maher, tonight will be a Biden bashing fest.

(52,134 posts)Matthews, when he had his program never let any guest complete a sentences so perhaps a good match for the now Republican. She is, isnt she?
Will be interesting if they will touch the debate. I do remember, when Obama had a less than stellar performance in his first debate with Romney, Matthews complained: where was Obama?
Thanks for keeping up

"Since it was first published in 2005, Ray Kurzweils The Singularity Is Near and its vision of an exponential future have spawned a worldwide movement. Kurzweil's predictions about technological advancements have largely come true, with concepts like AI, intelligent machines, and biotechnology now widely familiar to the public.
In this entirely new book Ray Kurzweil brings a fresh perspective to advances toward the Singularityassessing his 1999 prediction that AI will reach human level intelligence by 2029 and examining the exponential growth of technologythat, in the near future, will expand human intelligence a millionfold and change human life forever.
Among the topics he discusses are rebuilding the world, atom by atom with devices like nanobots; radical life extension beyond the current age limit of 120; reinventing intelligence by connecting our brains to the cloud; how exponential technologies are propelling innovation forward in all industries and improving all aspects of our well-being such as declining poverty and violence; and the growth of renewable energy and 3-D printing.
The culmination of six decades of research on artificial intelligence, The Singularity Is Nearer is Ray Kurzweils crowning contribution to the story of this science and the revolution that is to come."

(2,958 posts)and in the past I always enjoyed what Chris Matthews had to say, he had so much experience working those many years 'inside politics'. Unfortunate that his personal failings brought him down.
Tulsi showed us, once again, who she is.
All in all, good enough to make it worthwhile. Looking forward to his next show in two weeks!
