I know I am. Yes President Biden is moving slower on those knees.. but seriously.. when you look back at the craziness coming out of Trump.. How anyone could ever consider voting for that nonsense is beyond me.. Give me slower moving thoughtfulness against crazy bombastic behaviors any day!!

(5,050 posts)instead I read about what was going on at the debate here on DU. While at first I felt dismayed, later someone pointed out all the video of DJT's lies for campaign ads
then I felt better
plus that and the debate didn't seem to move any of the polling numbers,,,,

(27,639 posts)For some reason, a lot of the elite liberal media is thoroughly invested in getting Biden to withdraw, and equally convinced theres some mythical Democratic politician out there who would be much more likely to beat Trump.

(53,214 posts)something I don't normally expect from liberal voices. In the meantime, they don't seem to have any suggestions as to who this magical candidate could be who will waltz in and save the day. They should all have enough experience and knowledge to realize how absurd their advice is. Maybe brain worm infections are spreading!

So far, its right on schedule. By early next week MAGAhick Johnson will be banning mention of the debate on the floor of the House.

I trust he will be back on the campaign trail as the BIG GUNS get called up to campaign as well.
CF#45 will brag about he whipped Joe. But millions more viewers will have seen through all his bull shit and LIES, to determine that he offers NOTHING but gloom, doom, and revenge.
I pray that I am right on this.

(3,533 posts)You are quicker on the keyboard than me. I actually hardly ever watch debates as I consider them media shit shows but I watched this one. So Joe had a cold or something. But the way the debate was run was awful. I never so much shit in my life. He must have repeated the racist shit about immigrants stealing you SS and Medicare a dozen times. He was just throwing out shit to make it impossible to refute it all and make it impossible to make your own points. As for the main stream media they are there usual disgrace.
Funny how they can call for Biden to step aside when the think it's ok for an abjudicated rapist and fraud felon to continue. I also think coming to a debate with memorized facts is a waste of time. The only thing that works on somebody like Pinche Pendejo is snark and humiliation. Being down with a cold doesn't really help and he's not by nature a dirty fighter like I am, which I respect. Where I largely grew up in Iowa we had a saying "Never wrestle with a pig. They love it and you just get dirty."I also think Trump lost the little support he had on the border with his anti immigrant crap. Here in El Paso I thinking a high turnout with Biden getting over 80%. He claims the military supports , but he's full of shit as usual because Fort Bliss is part of our vote. We have the safest large city in the United States and yet the media has people afraid to come here. We saw no increase in crime at the height of the numbers. Our Mayor, Oscar Leeser,
met with Joe last week in Washington about the border and I think there is a workable deal. Oscar was born in Mexico and migrated here with his family and didn't speak English at the time. He has the larges Hyundai dealership in the South now. Oh he's Jewish too.
That's El Paso to a T.

(57 posts)The salient issue is trust. Myself and countless other Democrats implicitly trust JB with the monumental decisions despite these flaws RW media will whine about ad nauseum all the way to November.
Frump, however, can't be trusted to take proper care of a dog. Not even for one day. It's astounding Trump supporters actually do trust, believe and worship the ground he walks on unquestioningly. It's even more astounding your RW media actually has Trumpers so bamboozled into a hypnotized sleep state: anti-woke .
It's the only explanation left for why Trumpers didn't even notice their great hero deflected every question. No critical thought allowed when Trump phlapps his trap.
Lincoln Project and the likes needs to get busy clipping together TFG's insane lies rapid fire, doing what CNN neglected to do.

"I refuse to join the Democratic vultures on Bidens shoulder after the debate," he wrote. "No one knows more than me that a rough debate is not the sum total of the person and their record. Morning-after thermonuclear beat downs from my race from the debate and polling geniuses like 538 predicted ld lose by 2. And what happened? The only seat to flip and won by a historic margin (+5)."
He then urged his fellow Democrats to buck up and bluntly said, "Chill the f--k out.

I love how both the Black community and Mexican communities turned this obvious racist insult on its head to make Trump look like the fool he is.
Im also seeing that the Univision audience was very turned off by Trump. The GOP set such low expectations for President Biden that it seems a lot of people came away only talking about Trump and most definitely NOT in any positive way.

(23,953 posts)Granted, it's merely anecdotal but I've tried not to create a bubble so I can see multiple perspectives of any given situation, but I've seen two things happen in the last 24+ hours:
1. People who vowed never to vote for Biden realized his win isn't inevitable, it seemed to scare the shit out of them, and I'm fairly certain they will vote for Biden and dems now. They probably won't be vocal about it but that's okay.
2. There is most definitely renewed vigor on social media with people riding HARD for Biden. Everyone is acknowledging that his performance Thursday was bad but that doesn't mean it wipes out his record and it means it's up to US to prosecute Trump and Maga on his behalf more than ever. I'm seeing a good balance of people factually prosecuting Trump and pointing to Biden's proven successes. People know what they're getting with both men. Basically, I've seen a renewed sense of civic responsibility which is beautiful.

(25,644 posts)A lot of energy has gone into jittery panic about Biden's health and overall physical capabilities, but there's a whole other side taking shape where TSF came across as the evil prick he really is.
In his direct remarks to Biden, TSF appeared arrogant and nasty, borderline abusive. That's not a look which wins over the elusive "undecided voter". Further, TSF lied frequently and let fly some truly racist, ignorant statements which appeal only to his most faithful cultists.
As time goes on, Biden's poor condition and dismal overall performance will fade from memory but TSF's assholery will remain and solidify. TSF damaged his campaign in ways we won't see for a while -- he can declare victory all he likes but he made serious mistakes that will haunt him long-term.

(26,257 posts)spectacular performance since then, and not just the one massive tax cut that djt the orange menace passed for him and his millionaire and/or billionaire buddies.
A single debate doesn't begin to tell the whole story, as all of us know. And as I like to point out, slow and steady does the trick, not mouthing off all of the time as the orange menace likes to do.

its because theyre rightfully cynical about enough of the American electorate detecting the lies, caring about the lies, and rating honesty and policy over performance.
I was happy to find out that many viewers realized Trump was lying quite a bit. I honestly didnt think many still had that ability, since its inexcusable Trump has made it this far in the first place.

(3,835 posts)We were in the dumps the rest of the night and all day Friday.
On Saturday morning, we got up at our usual 9:00 AM, ate grilled cheese sandwiches, honeydew slices, black coffee, and WE ARE READY TO KICK REPUBLICAN ASS AND TAKE REPUBLICAN NAMES.
We have TWO Biden-Harris 2024 signs that we were saving until Labor Day. They are now in our front yard where they will stay.
We dropped another $200 that we can't afford into the Biden-Harris campaign, and wife is now writing 100 postcards to undecided voters (I don't write postcards because no one could read them).
And we cancelled our NYT subscription.
Slapped more Biden-Harris 2024 bumper stickers on our cars and my old truck.
A Trump 2024 yard sign has appeared about half-a-mile down the road. It will disappear tonight.
