I have never been a flag-waving, "USA! USA! USA!", rah-rah, type of guy.

But I love my country. I would not trade it for any other country in the world. You can have Russia, North Korea, and Iran or any other.

I am a Vietnam veteran and it gets a little old watching these people desecrate the American flag. They imprint their favorite symbols upon the Stars and Stripes, such as an AK-47, the name "TRUMP" across the colors, or some quote. Of course, the name "TRUMP" is imprinted in gold. It's all just a little sickening as we come upon the Fourth of July, our Day of Independence.

I have no respect for the Bible thumpers and flag humpers. They show no respect for anyone that has sacrificed for this country.

Worst President bone spurs image on our flag is disgusting. Trump started putting the flags on coat hangers. The flag is suppose to hang naturally off the pole. Veterans I know hate that.

that I do not like any of the stages where the flag is across--spread out in the background. This goes for all Parties.
Just let the flag hang naturally IMHO.

the street from me just got his second flag. The first being the American flag and the second having the stripes but blue and black with shit heads picture and text "I'm voting felon" .

4. I've been pissed off about this for a long time

The extreme RW seems to think they own the concept of patriotism and love of country. Like you, and like everyone else here I'm sure, I love my country fiercely and hate seeing those guys commit unAmerican acts in the name of patriotism. The fact that on Jan. 6 they used our flag to physically attack policemen still astounds and enrages me.

They did the same thing with religion. It seems like their beliefs, their versions of love of country and of religious teachings are the only way, and that's just not what America's about.

This is exactly what is happening now and I agree Kentuck, it is disgusting.

I grew up living on military bases during peace and wartime.
And we never had all this ridiculous flag waving and flag nonsense on those bases.

There was on flag on base somewhere. But we didn't worship it or drool all over it.

The adults on base were actually defending the flag on a daily basis, risking their lives.
They didn't have time to act out with stupid stunts.

when SCOTUS rulled that flag burning was a protected form of protest.

Now they've come 180 degrees and enjoy the desecration!
