I am serious about this, think the fuck for yourselves, don't go by MSM articles.
Do you want a president who lost the presentation part of a debate?
Do you want a president who overwhelmingly won the substance part of a debate?
Who do you want to steer the ship?
I know what TSF has openly said he will do as president and count me out.
I know what President Biden said he will do in his 2nd term and I am aboard his ship, he is my captain.

(2,317 posts)Nobody supports Trump, nor should they. Thinking there might be better candidates for defeating Trump is not the same as supporting Trump.

(32,321 posts)In the history of our country name me someone who got more votes for president than Joe Biden.
I am supposed to believe that because Joe had a bad presentation, not substance, millions of people are going to desert him because that is the only reason for even contemplating replacing Joe with someone else who will be untried and unproven to win.

(2,317 posts)Im just saying that wanting someone who had a clear path to beating Trump is different than supporting Trump. Wish we had Obama in 2024 . . .

Yes of course, replacing Biden, a proven winner, with someone unknown so close
to the election is a huge gamble and perhaps sheer folly.
But characterizing others as "deserting" Biden is not the point of the argument.
The goal is to preserve our democracy and prevail against fascism.
This is not a loyalty test for one man.
It is about preserving the most important democracy in the history of the world.
And doing right by the American people.
If you can argue how retaining Biden does that, you would have a great argument.

(81,266 posts)What does the polling data tell us?
Who polls the highest on beating Trump?
I don't have a hidden agenda.
My goal is to preserve our democracy.
And we must be smart and careful.
Dems are the only ones who can do it.
The facts will guide us.

(2,317 posts)I support Biden and suspect hes going to be the candidate. If I thought there was someone who was clearly better then Id get behind that person as a replacement but Im not seeing it at this time. And as others have said the time to make the change was six months ago not now .

(81,266 posts)The timing is very bad.
And there is no obvious person with the name recognition, poll numbers, etc. to beat Trump.
Biden appears to be bouncing back, and the Dem leadership is circling the wagons around him.
So at the highest levels the decision has been made.
But we had a right to ask questions and think it through.
Now the biggest problem is to stop the infighting and bring some unity into the equation.

(5,410 posts)running at least 3 percent behind President Biden's polling numbers versus Trump...

(81,266 posts)I read somewhere 10 point difference.
But there are also other factors.
Time and other issues.

(5,410 posts)I think I saw it on the news or on my phone this morning, but I couldn't find it online now...
Yes, the polls a few months ago on the same alternate candidates showed them from six to 10 percent or more, behind President Biden...
Can't make a judgement on the quality of either set of polls, but none of them ever showed anyone doing better than President Biden against Trump...

We go with the proven strongest candidate.

(17,742 posts)want someone who every time he opens his mouth to talk, tells us multiple lies. I also dont want a person that says he will be a dictator on day one. That will be the end of our democracy.

(22,326 posts)You vote for who "you" want as President, period. There are 2 choices, you pick your choice. Mark the ballot and hope you are correct and your choice wins.
