Gathered at Camp David, Biden's family tells him to stay in the presidential race and keep fighting

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Joe Biden’s family used a gathering at Camp David to urge him to stay in the race and keep fighting despite his dreadful debate performance, and some members criticized how his staff prepared him for the faceoff, according to four people familiar with the discussions.

Biden spent Sunday sequestered with first lady Jill Biden, his children and his grandchildren. It was a previously scheduled trip to the presidential retreat in Maryland for a photo shoot with Annie Leibovitz for the upcoming Democratic National Convention.

But the gathering was also an exercise in trying to figure out how to quell Democratic anxiety that has exploded following Thursday’s performance.

While his family was aware of how poorly he performed against Donald Trump, they also continue to think he’s the best person to beat the Republican presumptive nominee. They also believe he is capable of doing the job of president for another four years, according to the people who were not authorized to speak publicly about internal discussions and spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity.

Release the debate transcript which tells a very different story from what the pro GOP media editorial are saying and rub the actual fact that tRump lied for the entire 90 minute debate while the pro GOP media made no mention of tRump's numerous lies. Biden needs to strongly chastize the pro GOP media for ignoring tRump's many lies.

in good shape. I want to know: What specifically caused him to look and act confused and sound incoherent at times? Are they being transparent about his medical and cognitive status? Because if that was new and SUDDEN, that's a real problem that requires a workup and public disclosure, as he is the President, of course. And if he's gotten like that before...then they're hiding it from us and gaslighting us, and we're in deep shit.
I have to wonder why he was sent to NC for a rally the morning after--if your excuse is that you're acutely ill from a cold or something, so much so that you looked out-of-it and were hoarse in your public appearance, then you obviously should cancel and rest. I also want to know: Can he face another debate, a press conference, an unscripted town hall--or are we effectively done with those and they hope to coast on very scripted appearances and friendly rallies until Election Day? If he can't perform at that level where he can answer questions unprepared/uncoached, then where are we at, people? This is bad.
