(8,590 posts)When it states the "only" requirements (age, natural born), that sort of precludes other disqualifiers and no doubt there is "settled law" (hah, forever more in quotes) on the matter.

That could quickly cascade into a constitutional crisis. A real one. Where the potus flat out disregards a scotus ruling, pardoning anyone who gets subpoenaed or indicted.

But the campaign can use it to repeat that talking point over and over and over up to Election Day.
