When Trump obstructed the FBI seach for classified documents....

He was no longer in any "official" capacity. He was just a former president. He had been out of office for about a year and a half.

Could he argue that he was "hiding" those documents as part of an "official" duty?

Is that why Judge Aileen Collins has been requested to drop the case entirely?

He was POTUS when he gave himself the classified docs.
So they are his in perpetuity.
