(36,594 posts)When she dropped out, I got behind Joe, because she endorsed him. She is an amazing woman. Smart and tough with a heart of gold. Joe knew what he was doing when he tapped her.

(98,131 posts)I love that woman and it irritates the hell out of me when I hear people passing right over her as a possible candidate for President.

cackling is something wicked old witches do in stories. Its baked in to the story along w the gingerbread house and the oven to cook the children who got lost in the forest.
So, I find it to be a very gendered slur when applied to a woman in public life.
Yeah, eff that.
calimary
(90,484 posts)FUCK that!
Frankly, Hekate, somebody whos bothered by that is more likely bothered by the idea of a strong, capable, politically savvy and experienced female politician of ANY stripe. Its the female part theyre bothered by.
Im sorry. Its the 21st century. Women are EQUAL to men in EVERYTHING, by now, except maybe physical strength and endurance. In THAT category, women are SUPERIOR to men.
One reason? They live longer.
Another reason? Dudes, YOU try squeezing a fully-formed/ready-to-go BABY out of YOUR little hole.
Cmon! Lets see! How bout it? Deal?

(27,447 posts)And isnt the judicial branch a co equal branch of the government with executive and legislative? It appears they gave away their power to the Presidential branch. This will come back to bite them in the a$$!
They have pledged their allegiance.we know where they stand.

(56,239 posts)they gave the president absolute immunity only for "official acts" with a distinction for core acts and non-core official acts.
so i think they figure if a president goes too far (by which i mean, is a democrat) they can always say that it's not an "official act"
as president, donnie could take money in exchange for naming a 4-star general because hey, he's commander-in-chief and no laws apply to him for official acts, congress can't tell him how to run the military.
on the other hand, if biden were to try something like that, they could say aha, taking bribes is not an official act, lock him up!
but a really corrupt president could just create a special branch of the military to serve as his brownshirts, and then the supreme court wouldn't be able to stop him from anything at all. which is exactly what donnie would do if he doesn't get his way without that.

(172,411 posts)the SC just put the president above the law, along with legalizing bribery.....I have long had ZERO DOUBT that if Trump could have his critics rounded up and executed, HE WOULD
you're probably one of those folk who think it could not happen here - IT COULD, and I realized it the moment the SC literally chose the president....repukes have found they could not get what they wanted via votes, so they RIGGED THE COURT with repuke hacks - the Supreme Court now works for the greedy old pig party
