Heritage Foundation threatens to sue if Biden is dropped from the DNC nomination

I know it's Fox, but it's an important story.

The Heritage Foundation, one of the United States' most prominent and well-connected conservative activist groups, is laying the groundwork in case a sudden switch-up in the Democratic roster sparks a legal war.

"We are monitoring the calls from across the country for President Biden to step aside, either now or before the election, and have concluded that the process for substitution and withdrawal is very complicated," Executive Director of The Heritage Foundation’s Oversight Project Mike Howell said in a statement. "We will remain vigilant that appropriate election integrity procedures are followed."

Heritage has already identified multiple states in which a switch away from Biden before or after the nomination could mean serious trouble for the Democratic Party.

In a separate statement, the Oversight Project warned, "If the Biden family decides that President Biden will not run for re-election, the mechanisms for replacing him on ballots vary by state. There is the potential for pre-election litigation in some states that would make the process difficult and perhaps unsuccessful.

"Given the expected intensity of election integrity concerns in this election cycle, policymakers and the public should be educated and aware of the contentious path ahead," it added.

1) Because there is no discussion of replacing Trump senior with coke head junior.
2) The Heritage Foundation is concerned with Republican victory, not simply making the ballot immutable.

The Heritage Foundation advocating for Joe Biden's Presidency is proof that we're living in bizarro world.

We're certainly living in interesting times. I'm half afraid to see what the next twist will be.

There should be a process for replacing candidates if necessary (it isn't yet), but it is absolutely not the HERITAGE FOUNDATION's call what happens in the Democratic Party, or even the Republican Party. It is up to the membership of those parties. And what if Trump dies (I hope he does)? Would they want a dead guy on their ballot? Presumably not.

Heritage Foundation and Federalist Society may actually be the powers behind the coup.

This is not a conspiracy theory.

The Federalist Society selected Trump,s judicial appointments

come again, they'd probably be able to convince the rubes he will arise from the dead to accept the nomination.

21. In reality having a Democratic president and Congress is good for the GOP

The ideal setup as far as helping the GOP look good is about 45 percent in the House, around 42 percent in the Senate, no more filibuster and a Democrat in the White House. This is enough Republicans for them to get some of the things they want - most revolving around money for the red states - and they'll be able to go out to their voters and brag about all the great things they did for them. Think about Lauren Boebert or MTG going back to their districts and speechifying about all the money, which they voted against, that's flowing to their districts. The things some of their people REALLY want - like an absolute abortion ban, a balanced federal budget amendment, elimination of Social Security or Medicare, and turning the US into a Christian nation - won't ever get done, which is a good thing.

If you put a Republican majority in either house or a Republican in the White House, nothing gets done. I don't remember which one it was that said this, but I remember a fairly prominent Republican member of Congress complaining earlier this year that Congress really hasn't done anything this term - and that's because the only two things the GOP can do are stonewall and delay. (Which are synonyms, but that's okay; they don't want to be known for having done only one thing.)

But you make the GOP a permanent minority party, let them help steer money to things they value while allowing Democrats to fund things we value, and QUIT FUCKING CUTTING TAXES so we don't have to keep increasing our borrowing, and the country will eventually thrive.

Ballot access litigation is strange. There are traps that could be used to keep a replacement for President Biden off the ballot

I've seen a lot of people telling me that this story means they think Biden is weak so they want him in the election. No...you're missing the goal here. What they are doing is declaring how they will conduct a coordinated lawfare campaign to screw the Democratic nominee.

First it will be this lawsuit. In close order various Republican AG's will sue the DNC on behalf of their citizens "who voted in good faith in the Primary for Joe Biden." Then they will launch coordinated campaigns to split the Democratic coalition. "See how they are treating Kamala?" "Why didn't they think California's governor leading the 3rd largest economy in the world should be nominee." it will be relentless and targeted to get people to stay home. Millions of dark money will go to third party candidates. Suddenly RFK Jr. will miraculously have the resources to get on every ballot...on and on and on.

They don't care who is on the ballot. They want us to spend time, money, and anger on each other and on defense so Trump simply strolls into the White House with 45% of the vote.

The Biden campaign needs to stop nevel gazing and get back in the fight. We all need to stop eating each other alive and remember the real enemy to our democracy is the one's cheering this on in Florida.
