If we play our cards effectively, what I'd love to see unfold........
1) Biden/White House asks the public how they currently feel about recent SC rulings, write up about Roe vs Wade,
bump-stocks, and if Presidents should have absolute immunity like Kings. And word everything in such a negative
light so that almost 100% of respondents would agree that the Court is in need of repair.
2) Biden goes on TV with his message along the lines of "The SC has given me immunity being President and 98%
of you want me to do everything from fire them to a firing squad. Sorry I'm a principled moral person who knows
right from wrong and my conscience will not allow me to treat the Court that way"
3) "But if you'll be kind enough to give me a Democratic Congress that will work with me, our first priority of
business will be to overturn blah blah blah and ensure that no future President is above the law or a king."
"Leaving any Fascist MAGA in Congress will hinder Democracy getting back to it's roots"
I'm sure some will think it's a terrible idea to get the electorate mad at the SC and use it to our advantage but
the right uses fear and hate all the time. And on this forum we can discuss and tweak ideas. So can/should
we try something along these lines?

(23,912 posts)but lets keep the Supreme Court's shenanigans front and center in voter's minds and to make that ship
float again requires both Houses being Democratic.

Metaphorical
(2,664 posts)The MSM may be trying to bury the negative info against Trump, but I'll be honest, I've not even turned on a TV in the last year, except to watch streaming content that I could get from my computer. Online, the sentiment is clearly shifting away from Trump, and the debate is already old news. The SCOTUS opinion, on the other hand, is definitely reverberating, and in many respects is only growing in significance online because people ARE talking about it in a way that they don't do in person.
I'm an online journalist. What I'm seeing in the various channels I use to stay abreast is that there are fewer hard core Trumpers, and the ones that are legitimate (rather than trolls) are usually called out on their antics quickly. Most aren't wildly supportive of Biden, but they see Trump as dangerous, and for all that Trump "won" the debate, at least according to the MSM, it didn't really do him any favors.
One more point - Trump's sentencing is coming up soon. This is going to be a real challenge for the Trump-supporting MSM, because they HAVE to cover it - it's one of the major stories of the century - but it also paints Trump in the worst possible light, especially with the release of the Epstein files in the background (Trump's recent trial was a business fraud case, but it was also a case about a sex scandal).
I do not think things are near as dire as so many people here are painting them.

(23,912 posts)it might affect our GOTV efforts. Myself, I want to see us have a super majority in both Houses so we can get
some things accomplished which would be a positive in the long run.
