It means people think both candidates are a joke. The Insane vs The Infirm.

These are the people who don't follow politics closely, who are in general suspicious of politicians, and either won't vote, or will snap vote based on some arbitrary metric or preexisting bias.

This isn't a hypothetical matchup 14 months out. These are two *very* well known party nominees (almost) going head-to-head.

Yes, a lot can still change in 15 weeks, but you can't argue that people haven't gotten to know the candidates or tuned into the race.
