Joe step down??

All this talk and handwringing spewing forth from the media, telling Joe to step down is at this point crazy. Replacing Joe would be a catastrophic blunder that would undoubtably guarantee trump a victory in November.
VP Harris would make a VERY good president. The problem is that she is black and she is a woman. That is one of the many flaws in this or any election in this f*cked up country, all due to deep seated racism and considering women second class citizens.
Then there is FUX TV and a thousand or more radio stations airing hate radio 24/7, with millions of gullible people buying into it.
Joe is, and will be surrounded with a crack team of first rate advisors including Pres. Obama. Joe now has had almost 12 years as VP and president in the White House. That is an impressive portfolio of experience.
If for any reason Joe should be unable to continue on as president, he can and will step down and turn the reins over to VP Harris to continue on, and she would do a very good job.

If people now believe they are actually going to get Kamala Harris by voting for Biden, won't that trigger the black-and-woman reluctance you complain about being wrong with the country?

5. Right on! There are no good options at this point and sadly for the racism/sexism extant as you note.

I think also if we ran a Newsom or others from states highly considered by many to be "liberal bastions" it would be equally difficult. I do regret that President Biden did not take my advice upon taking office of stepping away, temporarily, under excuse of medical reasons and let VP Harris ascend. Only for her to do the same and let then Speaker of the House Pelosi ascend. I think the number of Repug/RWer heads that exploded then would now put our victory in November in even more assured territory.
