This one was a screen shot before deleting. He hadn't even met with these Governors. Only 1 of 4 tweets were caught as a screenshot.

(98,341 posts)It was the Natalee Holloway and Michael Jackson cases, non-stop 24/7 coverage that turned me off. They were the National Enquirer news station. Never any news, zip, nada, nothing.

(103,800 posts)What was on in the truck stops when I was in one, that's what they had on back then, fux didn't have a pretend news outlet at that time. But that had actual news then, in the early 80s. I don't have teevee and haven't had one in my home since 1980. I do watch some thing inline but not enough to get a teevee for.

(11,780 posts)Not to say I never see it in hotels or visiting someone. I do watch stuff online, but I remember laying on the couch looking for something to watch. Wasted a lot of time just settling for whatever was on. I see a lot of people who just plop down in front of the TV after work or whatever. It really is the opiate of the masses.

(2,785 posts)This crap is right out of the UK tabloids, which are infamous for literally making shit up.
Then we have Trump, a convicted felon, who committed lie after lie after lie after lie in that debate, yet not one peep is heard by the Beltway mob pushing to get him off the GOP ticket.
That says everything about these fake "journalists."

I think this should be a big story--its a "gotcha" moment that shows viewers are being manipulated....

(790 posts)The first post (no. 2/4) references a governor's call that was held on Monday. It was reported by Jack Tapper here:
https://www.cnn.com/2024/07/02/politics/democratic-governors-joe-biden/index.html
On the call, some of the governors expressed surprise that they had not heard from Biden himself about his debate performance. There was a strong sentiment on the call that they needed to hear from Biden directly on the matter.

The governors, one of the sources said, were worried about going public with their concerns out of fear that it would lead to Biden digging in further. Plans for the meeting at the White House are underway but it has not been scheduled.
It was also reported by then NYTimes as well:
https://www.nytimes.com/2024/07/02/us/politics/biden-governors-meeting.html?searchResultPosition=2
The meeting on Wednesday would feature governors attending in person at the White House and virtually, according to one of the two people and another person briefed on the planning. It would come two days after the governors, who have been some of Mr. Bidens staunchest supporters throughout his presidency but whose ranks also include his possible replacements, held their own virtual meeting on Monday.
A number of those governors expressed frustration with the current set of circumstances and the lack of contact with Mr. Biden directly on their call on Monday, according to a person briefed on what took place. That meeting ran roughly an hour and did not include staff. Some of the elected officials who have been supportive of Mr. Biden have complained privately that he is being kept in something of a bubble, one that is making the current anxieties about the situation the Democrats are facing worse.
And in the Washington Post:
https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2024/07/02/biden-to-meet-with-democratic-governors/
It was those complaints that spurred the plans for a meeting between Biden and the Democratic governors on Wednesday, with the goal of focusing on the state of his campaign
Based on that Monday governor's call, the White House set up a zoom call with the governors to ally their fears, which was referenced in the above articles and then confirmed in an article in Axios:
https://www.axios.com/local/chicago/2024/07/02/illinois-gov-jb-pritkzer-meeting-president-biden
The call reportedly led Biden to convene this meeting, which some governors are attending in person.
Pritzker was originally planning to join the call virtually, but according to the Sun-Times, is now heading to Washington, D.C. in person.
So all of this matches up. Not seeing the lie.

(23,695 posts)Following the publication of incorrect information, you print or air a retraction as soon as possible, own your error, and reveal the true facts of the story.
"Journalism" now:
Following the publication of incorrect information, millions of people run wild spreading your mistake all over the Internet as if it's the truth, so you just delete your story and pretend like you had nothing to do with it.
Sad.

The concern from some of the nations Democratic governors were aired on a call Monday organized by Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, one of the sources said. The call was attended by governors only.
On the call, some of the governors expressed surprise that they had not heard from Biden himself about his debate performance. There was a strong sentiment on the call that they needed to hear from Biden directly on the matter.
There was also some discussion of having Vice President Kamala Harris address them.
