Let's consider something
We have seen what members of an unaccountable, unconstrained branch of government has done. We've seen members of the Supreme Court engage in unethical behavior that would cause any other jurist on the federal bench to be investigated, if not arrested. This Court has now given the president the same level, if not greater, of unaccountability. The president now has carte blanche to commit all manner of abuses.
Today, the current president could legally order the Justice Department to investigate the ethical issues of Alito, Roberts, and Thomas. He could order the IRS to investigate and audit their taxes. He could order Homeland Security to put them on the travel watch list and the State Department to monitor and report their passport usage. All of these would be in his official capacity and could not be questioned, making true the fascist wet dream of the white supremacists in the Republican Party.
