Joe Biden has already beaten Trump once. Trump hates that, hes afraid that Biden could do it again. Biden had a cold at the debate and was a bit slow in responding to Trumps fire hose of lies, distortions, inanities, and outright fabrications. Now there are some Democrats who, instead of offering some moral chicken soup, have decided that giving Trump what he wants, Biden's departure, is the way to win in November. Be advised that there are many Democrats for whom such rolling over and playing dead is never going to happen; I am among them.

(24,283 posts)We have four months to GOTV. Its sad that some elected officials are ready to give in, lay down and roll belly up. Do they think that will help their election in Nov?

(17,622 posts)Remember - Trump is all about projection. That's how he came up with the "performance enhancing drugs that Biden will be given" crapola.

(5,339 posts)just doesn't explain it away and sounds, frankly, silly. That wasn't a cold. We've all had a cold.
The debate was bad. How about we don't just ignore that.

(10,484 posts)the pussy-grabbing, lie-a-minute, wanna-be-dictator, insurrectionist felon should drop out of the race--they are corporate whores who love tax-slashing RWers in office.
However, I can't see how Democrats don't dismiss suggestions that Biden should drop out by pointing out the above.
But then, I'm obviously missing something. For instance, I also can't understand why anti-Trump comedians still find it necessary to constantly make jokes about Biden's age. Very seldom are they even funny above a very childish level.
Yes, it's true he's old, but he's still a billion times better than Trump. Switch out those Biden-is-old jokes for slams on any of Trump's million character flaws, word salad speeches, moronic beliefs, etc.
Trump is an existential threat to our democracy and our lives, in many cases. It's war. Avoid friendly fire!

(12,116 posts)or want. I hear their gaslighting and projection over and over. It's been going on for months that supposedly the Democrats don't like Biden but many will unhappily vote for him. I hear it on the radio and I often scream back at those clowns. I don't often listen anymore but occasionally I do to hear what they are up to. If you tell a lie over and over some people will start to believe. Unfortunately those tactics work on some people. But they don't work on me. I'm proudly ridin' with Biden!

(1,211 posts)Support for winning this election can come in other forms. Let those strategy discussions take place behind the scenes.
Don't attack so viciously, as this is not the place to discuss those deeper concepts.
Just support our nominee without being vicious to other, well meaning democrats.

(4,557 posts)Sure, from a policy position perspective, he was fine, because everyone here agrees with him. Short of coming out as a Republican, everyone on the left would feel he "won" the debate. It was everything else that was a disaster.

(1,020 posts)Joe step down??
All this talk and handwringing spewing forth from the media, telling Joe to step down is at this point crazy. Replacing Joe would be a catastrophic blunder that would undoubtably guarantee trump a victory in November.
VP Harris would make a VERY good president. The problem is that she is black and she is a woman. That is one of the many flaws in this or any election in this f*cked up country, all due to deep seated racism and considering women second class citizens.
Then there is FUX TV and a thousand or more radio stations airing hate radio 24/7, with millions of gullible people buying into it.
Joe is, and will be surrounded with a crack team of first rate advisors including Pres. Obama. Joe now has had almost 12 years as VP and president in the White House. That is an impressive portfolio of experience.

(2,715 posts)Biden is by far the most qualified individual ever to be president of the United States. He follows a man who was the least qualified president in American history, literally somebody pulled off the street, the only president who never held elected office or was high ranking military. What a contrast.

(13,028 posts)on the "he must resign" bullshite. I'm voting for Joe 100%. I am a Biden supporter and not a fair-weather one. As the President said "when you get knocked down, you get back up". I have no worries about his cognitive abilities.
