Im not really sure what to do, said Gregory, who became homeless after her mother died. I may go door to door and ask, but people tend to get mad about that. I dont have any cash on hand right now.
Funding was cut off, so in a budget of 1.6 billion the city couldn't find $231,458. This is 33 trailers and people and dogs and cats, so if you are in the area, please help Camp Resolution. Please help. I would send some money but I can't find a link other than this one. Let me know if you find one.

(351 posts)I am confident it is theirs. I will try to get their water restarted or at least replaced with some social media outreach.

(36,898 posts)The first-of-its-kind deal, which allows the camp to remain in place and govern itself without city interference, was held up as a model Sacramento could replicate at future sites. Other cities, including San Jose, have said theyre considering similar models, putting the success or failure of this encampment under the microscope.
A year later, Sacramento has not managed to reproduce the concept and has no plans to. Residents of the camp, who lack electricity or running water, complain they feel forgotten. And the county district attorney, claiming the site threatens public safety, has demanded the city clear the camp or risk prosecution.

(12,214 posts)Perhaps this would be a great PR move for Evian or even the rapacious Nestle to step up and donate some. It's WATER for F's sake. Living as I do on the edge of temperate rain forest, it's hard to imagine being that short of such a resource, being beyond vital. Still, we get watering restrictions from time to time, something I'd never imagined in my early years. I guess population will eventually outstrip every resource there is.
But, back to my point. Is there someone experienced in what I'll call corporate fundraising? It would be a hell of an accomplishment.
As a sort of PS...a community near here (Greater Vancouver) was adjudged to have the best drinking water of any incorporated city or town on the planet. Last I heard, some brain-dead or paid-for stooge gave Nestle the right to take all the water they want at a price that was beyond ridiculous. Something like $1 per million liters. I think they can afford some. A tanker truck or two ought to make a huge difference.
