From my millennial perspective, it seems like a bunch of privileged snobs (most of whom aren't exactly young themselves) are behaving in an extremely ageist manner. I believe the median age for all the major channels is around 70, so how does this coverage feel to the folks tuning in?

(1,864 posts)The way they perceive it is the media is showing them that Biden is so much worse off than they are so it makes them feel superior and good about themselves.

That tends to make people wonder why.

I've told her about how dicey a play replacing Biden would be, and told her I certainly have no qualms myself about Biden doing a good job as President, but that doesn't fully assuage her concerns.

(3,223 posts)if Biden 'gets replaced' - the lack of faith and unity in the Dem party will spell the end. Then we'd have someone in the White House who is really horrible.

(15,909 posts)Even though the thing she fears most is Trump's reelection? Perhaps the next time I see her it would help if I called her a whining bed wetter and refused to see her until she shapes up and says she wants Biden to stay in the race?

(40,607 posts)Traditional television must die.
I think it is dying too, along with its audience. My adult children and their cousins pay no attention to traditional television or radio. All they care about is their cell phones and internet connections. They haven't got antennas attached to their televisions and they've never paid a cable bill.
I quit television news and opinion in disgust following the run-up to the Iraq War. My wife has never watched television news.
We quit traditional television entirely in 2012. I know the exact date because the last show I recorded was the grand finale of Chuck. After that we rearranged our family room and I didn't bother to hook up an antenna. The television we have now has never been programmed to receive any channels. It's connected to a cheap blu-ray player and whatever streaming dongle I happen to be despising least.
Our old DVD player supported up to four streaming channels and had a very simple menu and remote, but streaming on that is no longer supported. We've still got our old Nintendo Wii, which we could also watch Netflix on, but I don't know if that still works
