Dr. Tracy Pearson says everything I've been wanting to say for days now, dressing down both the media and certain Dems for their recent treatment of Biden, and I love every second of it. We as citizens voted in the primaries to choose Biden as our candidate and no one has the right to take that choice away from us. No one.

(19,457 posts)She's right, especially about the fact that WE VOTED and we voted for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.
A bunch of connected, wealthy people deciding they didn't like how a debate went (Joe's answers were truthful, accurate, and detailed, if a bit quiet), should not supersede the VOTES already cast.

(7,800 posts)Lisa DeJardins needs some strong pushback this morning. I sent her this video and a personal plea to stop driving the narrative against Biden.
Please add your voices. Speak up against this platforming of anti-Biden people.

(47,940 posts)Their voters are pissed. They need to stop this crap, NOW. If we present a united front to the media as that other party does, this all-important storyline will DIE.
I have to call all my Congresspeople on Monday and Adam Schiff because I'm hoping to vote for him for the senate and let them know how pissed I am so they'll keep away from this shit.

(7,588 posts)Biden won the primaries. Because of our votes in those primaries, the vast majority of delegates have pledged to vote for Biden. These supposed news organizations and those "Democrats" trying to bring down president Biden are trying to overturn an election after it has happened. They are trying to do that even though it is obvious to every person who has ever participated in an election that the very attempt to force the withdrawal of a candidate who was already chosen by the voters of our party is going to cost votes no matter how this attempt at going back to brokered conventions works out.
I get to vote for other Democrats in primaries and in the general, Trump is an existential threat to our democracy, not Biden.

(7,800 posts)I voted for President Biden. If you ignore my vote, you are no better than those that tried to overturn the election.
When Rep Raskin said there will be conversations, that upset me. No one invited me to that conversation.
I voted. And my vote counts. On Jan 6, they were trying to steal an election
This doesnt feel much different to me. Our votes matter. President Biden has the delegates. And he is the nominee.
You are going to disregard my vote because you can?
No you wont.

(26,168 posts)Dr. Pearson also did a great job of picking apart the gaslighting firehose we're getting from the media right now. It sounds like "but her emails" all over again, and no one is falling for it. She chastises them for pushing their own desired narrative rather than reporting the news. People are already dropping media channels and unsubscribing from news sources in droves, and the next step might be going after advertisers. She reminds the media of how effective this was during the "me too" era.
I am very impressed - Dr. Pearson did a great job covering all the points, clearly and thoroughly.

(7,800 posts)Her points on the media pile-on are spot on. They are pushing a narrative, with opinions rather than facts. That is not journalism or "news". Good news reporting seems to be in collapse across the board.
By jumping on the narrative, they are undermining the will of the people who voted for Biden, and democracy itself.
I sent this clip to Lisa DesJardins. She need immediate and hard pushback right now as she is courting Dem politicians to platform those that want to topple Biden.
Does she not realize that NPR will be on the chopping block if Project 2025 kicks in?
I am disgusted.

(13,114 posts)what she said about money was spot on but also why the heads of networks won't change the narrative. Like she said they love Trump being president even if bad for our country because they could feed daily on the drama and hype.
Because of that I don't think they will change unless millions stopped watching altogether.

(16,106 posts)She makes great points.
She is spot-on about the media.
They make money in chaos.
The media is also always looking to make a story. Steady as you go is boring. Emphasize this or that and add a little sensationalism and keep beating the dead horse. Gotta get people to watch or click.

(26,168 posts)I started praying more about that. And the Lord began to wake me up through this three-week process we were in, in the middle of the night, and to speak to me. And [I began] to write things down, plans and procedures and ideas on how we could pull the conference together. I assumed the Lord was going to choose a new Moses. And Oh, thank you, Lord: Youre going to allow me to be Aaron to Moses. [In the Hebrew Bible, Aaron is Moses brother and a priest who aids him.]
I worked to get Steve Scalise elected. And then Jim Jordan. And Tom Emmer. Thirteen people ran for the post. The Lord kept telling me to wait. And I waited and waited. And it came to the end, and the Lord said, Now, step forward. Me? Im supposed to be Aaron.
Wow.

(8,878 posts)Because boring means the man in office is doing the job. I never have to hear what the president twitted the night before, or what awful thing he suggested. The sound of the Biden presidency is papers shuffling, and then, bingo, something changes for the better. This boring president has my vote because he's so good at presidenting. Also he's a nice guy, but that has nothing to do with presidenting. Only what he does matters. "By their fruits ye shall know them." I do not require entertainment from the oval office. I require presidenting. Go, Joe!
