Above our paygrade

Arguing on this forum over whether Biden should drop out has about as much consequence as a fart in a hurricane.

Smart pragmatic people on this board don't care if Biden is healthy enough to be commander-in-chief. They don't care if party leaders put someone else in as the Democratic nominee. We just want to beat Trump.

Biden has my vote. If he was in a coma, he has my vote. If they switch him out with Harris, she has my vote. If, at the convention, they put a broken Magic Eight Ball to lead the Democratic ticket, it has my vote. They could literally nominate Commander the Dog, and I would (also literally) risk my life to cast a vote for the Democratic ticket to oppose these fucking fascists.

We, with our arguing, shirt tearing, and oh-so inciteful rhetoric are not making these decisions.

The power you have, the only influence you will make in the coming months, is to support and cast your vote for the Democratic nominee come November. All the rest is just trying to stay upwind of the public fart storm.

donors and entrenched politicians and the fucking media gets to speak their concerns and make the choice as to who we are so graciously told to vote for and shut the fuck up?

In answer to your question, yes, the only thing that matters is that you show up and vote (and supporting the party). I can tell that you are angry and anxious that people for not supporting Biden. I feel that too. I can tell others are filled with anger and anxiety at how the media is portraying Biden (or how Biden is actually portraying himself). I empathize with that as well.

I could scream at my computer screen until I burst an aneurysm, furiously type insults and arguments to anonymous near-strangers and twist their words in my own mind so that fellow Democrats feel like the enemy. Yet it won't change a damn thing.

I'd rather know how I was going to vote (which we all do know for ourselves), and read a book.

Less chance of that aneurysm.

by casting our votes in the primaries for Joe Biden, the incumbent POTUS. That’s how he became the Democratic nominee, not because he was selected by party bosses.

Some of the people you’re calling “above our pay grade” are now working to nullify that decision, which is politically insane IMO. But so far Joe Biden has shown no indication that he intends to step down.

Decisions made can make the odds better or worse.

Many of us know DNC delegates etc.
