Maybe it's just my own personal biases speaking, but...

…the whole “Biden needs to step aside or else we risk losing the election” reminds me a lot of the whole “Ukraine needs to make a peace deal with Putin in order to preserve what’s left of its country” thought process.

Mind you, both arguments could be made in good faith; you don’t have to be a secret Trump or Russia supporter to be making them.

But both scream of panic, desperation and short term thinking. And both have a high risk of backfiring horribly.

He is a total moron who will say whatever anybody tells him (but not if it is a lot of work) if they make it lucrative for him, money, and now freedom. Just looking at who is behind project 2025, all the Trump acolytes, who are also dumb as posts writing this. They too, are told what and how to do it, most likely it is written by someone else and they put their names to their chapter because none of these idiots are smart enough to do this on their own. The same goes for SCOTUS, bought and paid for so they play their role in this fascist takeover.

I fear she could lose a significant # of Biden supporters simply because she is a woman of color. Of course, I don't consider that to be a valid reason, after all, my first vote was for Shirley Chisholm for President in 1972. They'd never admit those were the reasons, but I suspect that it would be a deciding factor. I hope I am wrong.

I was amazed that we could elect him in this country at that time. Even some who are now Trumpers voted for him!

I thought more women would vote for Hillary because she was a woman, (and she was great). I thought many in red territory would tell everybody that they were Trumpers, but vote for Hilary. I guess people don't vote as much :identity" as I thought. (or still think?)

18. Why the determination to ascribe evil motives to those who disagree with you?
Sun Jul 7, 2024, 03:30 PM
Jul 2024

The people calling for Biden to step down are doing so because they want a Democratic victory in November, and they are terrified that Biden can't bring that about. Now, many of us are concerned about the upheaval Biden's vacating his reelection bid could cause, that it might be even worse. That doesn't mean those on the other side are like Russian agents, or that they want a Trump victory, as another person claimed. Why is it that people can't tolerate disagreement without attributing evil motives to the other side? All this Democrats eating their own is unpleasant.
