Rahm lays off union janitors, cuts non-union contract with buddy

Perfect timing. As we head into the Christmas season in the land of high heating bills, comes the news that Rahm is laying off many of the city's library custodians.

He's also put 300 union custodians's jobs on the chopping block at O’Hare Airport because of a controversial $99 million, non-union janitorial contract he's handed out to one of his mobster friends, Richard Simon, a buddy of the son of the late mobster William “Potatoes” Daddano (stay with me now) who also happens to be connected to the UNO charter school hustlers.

According to the Sun-Times report, UNO’s non-union janitorial service is listed as an “anticipated” sub-contractor on the O’Hare deal — an arrangement that could have been worth almost $5 million, according to city records.

Could it be the choice is closing the library vs. finding ways to save money to leave them open?

In bad financial times, libraries always are first to be cut in towns, lest they cut the sports down, which they never do.

The state supplies money to the city

the city has to allocate what they have the best way

this is the position of the Mayor over the person

sometimes things can be two different ways converging on each other.

I would like to hear the rest of the story, the entire story first

I didn't ask to have the OP repeated.

I always like to know the full story

This same thingy happened in my town, and it was solely due to what the town was cutting, no ulterior angle just a choice of five things to cut, and as always, the library lost and it has kept the hours it had

difference is the Gov and town is rpublican but parents always vote for sports over library
and there are only so many pieces of the pie

So I would like to know, the REST of the story as that newscaster used to narrate

(c) simon and garfunkel 1975

who is making anything up?

the exact words putting down rahm are in the two posts.

I myself like to hear THE REST OF THE STORY for all the choices there are.

usually the other choices are not in an opinion piece, which the OP link is.

same when people post youtubes as facts when they are opinions

is YOUR title in the OP my friend.

I repeated that, then added my opinion just like it is YOUR opinion

I myself like to hear THE REST OF THE STORY in that the link is an OPINION PIECE not an unbiased news item.

The media hates the Clintons, therefore they hate Rahm too. So I like to bypass an opinion piece and hear THE REST OF THE STORY

same as others like to do the same with any article.

IMHO (because mine is only an opinion, not a paid writer in a newspaper or blog)

CHICAGO is a good word and MY Kinda town (c) Van Huesen and Cahn, sung by the Chairmen of the Board, FRank Sinatra.
(not all chairmen of the board are bad, Frank proved that.)

I asked in the 2nd post for the rest of the story (another link telling the news, not an opinion piece by an op-ed columinst who has an opinion.(I don't consider that hard news).

I love how Rahm toiled and sweated and worked his way up to Mayor from the house and the cabinet position in an honestly won with votes from the people election.

I hope Mr. Axelrod and Plouffe does the same.

Chicago is great.

and yes, a mayor would plead poverty.

For the 7th time, I would love to read another story with the REST of the story

the OP article with link is an opinion piece.
written from an op-ed person with an opinion(an opinion is an angle).

it is not unbiased no matter which position it takes

I don't blindly follow anything except for anything President Obama does or want.
He is smarter than me, and his staff is unparallel in modern times. Simply the best(c) as Tina Turner sang.

With Rahm you get a three-fer.
Not only President Obama, but President Clinton42 and President Clinton45

and this is an opinion (c)g4a

If and when that happens you'll be Merry Poppinsing that too and looking for the "other side" of that too.

If you see a (D) then it is A OK and that goes pretty well for (R)'s too as long as they muster a degree of separation from the TEA clowns. (R) policy is tasty goodness, it matters not to you what is done or who suffers and dies, after all war and poverty are nothing new, winning is all that matters.

three families run this state. some years one family has power over the other two but there`s always a balance in the long run.

rahm is just another in the line of flunkies the families installed.

It's cruel and inhuman.

I know Emmanuel has always been non-progressive, but what the hell has happened to him? Has he been taken over by the mob? That's who he owes his win to?

the "selling" took place at an early age, it's just become so publicly evident of late. Indeed, those poor people. I lived in the NW "burbs" a long time ago, nothing ever really changes there, it's all the same as it ever was as far as I have ever known that place to be... the politicians just have different names and faces, that's all.
