They KNOW how much TSF has declined mentally and physically.
As the saying goes, "A good defense is a good offense."
The Republicans and the RW media attack Joe Biden before everyone realizes how far gone TSF is. To distract and detract preemptively.
That being said, can't imagine TSF making his acceptance speech at the Republican Convention next week. It can go one of two ways: A) Just another campaign rally with a stream of distorted consciousness, or B) a train wreck that makes Joe Biden's debate performance look like a speech by FDR or JFK.

(41,200 posts)I expect theyll be recycling the worst of Biden from now until November, not least to deflect from the ongoing deterioration of their own candidate.
Should be a blast.

(22,456 posts)...and focus on how completely unworthy of the Presidency trump is, that will be half the Biden health chatter gone immediately.

(22,456 posts)It's against his nature to stay out of the limelight.
There's a real possibility that he IS ill in some way, ill enough to keep him out of the publuc eye which us all he's ever lived for.

(9,249 posts)Personally, I figure his BIG EXTRAVAGANT CONVENTION APPEARANCE will be a taped video on big screens. He might be busy doing it over and over to get things right and that's why he's not been yammering and stammering of late.
Think. Again.
(22,456 posts)...he would be on foxnews every day telling people how he's not around.

(28,763 posts)They're certainly "jumping on" whatever stain they can find... but far from calling for him to step down, they've either stayed out of the way to acted as though they want him to stay.

(26,618 posts)For the encumbant the vast majority of the time. That Trump has a narrow lead, or no lead and whatever lead he had in the winter clearly has been shrinking throughout the year isn't good for them.
Biden stepping down helps them and they know it.
