President Biden needs our help.....he really needs our help!

This was the title of a post that I was going to make weeks before the debate. The reason I was going to post this, is because of some people I follow on Facebook. I am friends with a Trump supporter and also his mom, who is totally anti-Trump. The one thing he says to her, which has some truth, is she only posts negative things about Trump and nothing positive about President Biden.

I posted a list of Biden's accomplishments I found on DU, in response to that statement. We went back and forth and we ended up having a "civil discussion" that focused primarily on immigration. I'm in Texas, he is in Arizona and his mom is in New Mexico, where we were all born. Needless to say, immigration is a big issue in the border states. I told him that the only way it will get under control is if we change the asylum law and that a bi-partisan agreement was made regarding immigration, but it was Trump telling the house not to give President Biden a "win" on the issue. I don't think he knew that the law allowed basically anyone to seek asylum. He also didn't know about the immigration agreement that never reached a vote. He definitely didn't know about the other accomplishments that can be attributed to President Biden.

It is unfortunate that people don't know how great a President Joe Biden has been. I don't really know why. It's not all the main street media's fault. Some of it is our fault, but clearly the general public isn't aware like most of us here. Even my all democratic family isn't "fired up" to vote for Joe and they don't know how great of a President he has been. Maybe it is because how bad the last president was? Maybe everyone "checked out" of politics during his 4 years and once they voted to get rid of him, they never returned to politics.

So I came to DU to start my first discussion, to ask people to help President Biden by getting the word out about his accomplishments. I wanted everyone to post on Facebook, X, Instagram, TikTok, Threads and anywhere else you can. I also wanted everyone to ask their children to do the same.

Then, I didn't hit post. I thought too many people would question why I was posting this urgent request. I didn't want the "thank you for your concern" replies. I didn't want to deal with people wondering why someone with a low post count was sounding the alarm. I didn't think people would believe me if I said I was lurking here since sometime in 2002. I became a member in 2006 because I was locked out of DU on election night of 2004, since I wasn't a member. I've been here a while, and I have seen how people with low post counts are sometimes treated.

Then came the debate.... Yes, I saw what everyone saw... but I also saw what a lot of people didn't see. I saw the same great President that I came here to post about weeks ago. So, he was a little slower, having an off night, okay.... but still arguably the best President of my lifetime.

Unfortunately, my Facebook feed became full of unfortunate clips of Biden's worst moments of the debate. The Reels on Facebook was full of these clips, but I never saw a single Reel of Trump's lies or his ridiculous word salads that he spoke at his rallies. It was all anti-Biden and never anti-Trump.

After reading another discussion thread today, on how people just don't know about President Biden's accomplishments, I decided to start my first discussion tread asking for all of us at DU to help out our President, now more than ever.

PLEASE, share his accomplishments on every social media site and platform that you can! Ask your children to do the same. Bombard the likes of CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS and Fox to report on project 2025, and the new revelations about the Epstein documents that tie him to Trump. Post comments on CNN, MSN, Yahoo and Reddit. We can't wait for someone else to do this. The main stream media isn't on our side, we have to become the main stream media. Just like the republicans attacked the MSM for years and bombarded everyone to "not to listen to the Liberal media." We have to do the same with the new "corporate media." We have to call them out for who they are and show that they are only looking for ratings, and ...we don't have a lot of time.

We need to attack! We can't rely on our elected officials or spokespeople for the campaign to say the right things and to support President Biden. We need to talk to our neighbors, speak to those in other social settings. We need our family members to help, especially the younger members. We need to get people excited to vote for Joe!!!!

President Biden is the greatest President of the United States that no one knows about. It's about time they do!

We've had quite a bit of negativity lately with both trying to fend off negative stories about OUR CANDIDATE Joe Biden, and dealing with the constant barrage of negativity that IS trump.

With the race just starting to heat up for most Americans, I really like your idea of posting and sharing widely as much of the positive reasons why President Biden and Vice President Harris are the only sane choice there is in November.

We have our hands full, that's for sure. I have been busy on a couple of different sites and writing to our dem reps who somehow have the fantasy that changing candidates is as simple as changing socks. The reality would be destructive to our chances to win I fear. We would have a fractured dem electorate. With the repub convention coming up I am girding myself for another round of gaslighting and lack of media accountability.

15. Works against

Trump must become, he who must not be named. I know listing all his crimes and graft sounds like it would work against him, it doesn’t. There is no bad PR. Name recognition is primary. Telling people about our values, like women’s right to choose, how to counter project 2025. It needs to be now, not after the convention.

I'd like to see the main stream media demand that Trump give a press conference. Let them ask him the same tough questions. Of course that won't happen. Biden makes a gaff on a name and the sky is falling, but when Trump makes one, nothing!

It makes me feel deeply ashamed of the industry I used to be part of, about which I felt such wonder and pride. Boy, not any more.

They’ll take a LONG time in self-analysis and tons of different emotions, trying to “figure out” what went wrong. There’ll be defiance (we were just doing our jobs!) and embarrassment (you have to try to understand where we were coming from…) and more. Woodward & Bernstein will write more “let us explain it all to you” books and go on everybody's talk shows and lecture circuits, and the next time something like this happens - again - as it inevitably will, the only truth will be that we really haven’t learned a damn thing.

No media spends any time looking to interview Democrats. They only want to give voice to the racist, bigots, and easily manipulated.

They only interview the MAGA at the diner, and it is always in some "red" county. They need to interview the Union Worker, or even the Wall Street executive. Ask him how he likes the Dow being over 40,000!

How many republican representatives took credit for expenditures in their district that were part of the Inflation Reduction Act and the CHIPS and Science Act? It has happened many times. I've seen it here in Texas with the new Samsung plants being built all because of the CHIPS and Science Act. Does the media ever call them out ? ...... No, never.
