beat Tr**p?
1. Is it just because he had a bad debate performance?
2. Do they think that because of his age - that people will switch their votes to Tr**p?
3. Do they think that Dems who were set on voting for Biden will sit the election out because of his bad debate performance or his age.
I really want to know what their rational is.
I've said this here before - the Dems mission is to win this election. If Biden decides to stay in the race - will they not vote for him?
Don't they believe in his back-up VP? If Biden doesn't make it through this term - he has a great back-up that is step-in ready to take the reins. Don't they have confidence in Kamala Harris.
Seems easy for me to understand. Whether Biden stays in the race or he steps down and a replacement is designated - the mission doesn't change. The Dems still have to win in November.
Anyone that would have voted for Biden before the debate - because they are a Dem and they know that the mission is to beat Tr**p and the Repugs - will still vote for him.
They should also vote for his replacement - should he step down.
They will not sit the election out and not vote.
So why all the concern now that Biden can't beat Tr**p?
Are there that many undecided voters out there that will now vote for Tr**p because of Biden's age or bad debate performance?
What the hell are these people calling for Biden to drop out thinking?
If the Dems lose in November - it will be these people that will be the blame.

Assuming they remain at liberty to do so, of course....

Liars start sentences with the phrase "People are saying".
Too much of the so-called reporting on this falls into the latter category.

(40,575 posts)to keep Trump out of office, period. Folks who are normally Dem voters who plan to stay home because they think Biden is too old are not helping this cause.

(5,577 posts)This is not like a sport where you can have confidence faith that your team will come through and win the game. This is about the undecided who are too dumb to see the major differences between the two candidates. The current controversy is very likely to tip them in the wrong direction.

(1,977 posts)Biden likes to work with people. He has said that he understands the political arena where people say things to get elected but when the election is over they will actually work together. For most republicans those days are long gone.
The other thing is that politicians used to really begin their campaign after Labor Day. TCF changed all that. He is always campaigning. In todays world that is what it takes. You have to constantly tell people what you have done and why the other guy is not the right choice.
You cant do your job and think people will see it. They dont. Another DUer wrote that he talked with someone who said Biden has done nothing. When he told her all the things Biden had done she was shocked. I didnt know that. Ive heard that myself. Dems need to speak up in sound bites over and over.
TCF is good at repeating over and over again all the great things he was doing even though its all lies. Thats what they did in nazi Germany. Its the illusion of truth - propaganda! and people believe it. Trump told Leslie Stahl that he constantly demeans and discredits reporters so that people wont believe the negative stories they publish. It has worked.
Biden has said the plan is to attack, attack, attack. If he does (along with tooting his own horn and calling out repubs who tried to take credit for bills they voted against) I think hell be fine. If he doesnt, doesnt do it enough or concisely without wandering off topic, or waits too long it will be difficult.
I think they want to see him come out fighting and dont think he can do it, by temperament naturally and now added to that by age.
I think he can.
