(6,164 posts)I've stopped following the day-to-day rantings on the media shows. Why? Because I can't do one thing about it besides watch it all play out. We won't know how all of this plays out until after the conventions, so I'm chilling on the whole thing until then. By chilling, I don't mean disengagement from the situation. I still keep up with the news, but I'm not going to freak out about it one way or another.

If you never read The Shock Doctrine, you should, it's a primer on what we are experiencing right now with a pootinesque flavor added. It's not very comforting but it helps you know what to look for when seeking honest information.
