2. Voters at large are not an informed lot

Most voters don't understand how the economy works, the relation of interest rates to the economy or the business cycle, many think Presidents set interest rates, they don't know the conflict of democracy and fascism, or that GOP minorities rule their social safety net. This is the worst ignorance since 1925.

So to the OP, ignorance breeds paranoia and mistrust, so yes most may regard it all as bullshit. Power suits, who do they think they are telling me what to do, and they're all the same.
