The latest MSM conspiracy theory: Obama is working behind the scenes to push Biden out

This is beyond ridiculous. Politico's headline is "What Obama and Pelosi are doing about Biden." When you go on to read the actual article, all they say about Obama is that he supposedly "didn't object" when George Clooney called him to give him a heads up about the article (but also didn't encourage it). This despite the fact that Obama sent a pretty clear signal by being one of the first Democrats to come to Biden's defense right after the debate. If Obama were working behind the scenes to help push Biden out, we'd know it. There's no evidence of it and the media is grasping at straws, IMO. It's no secret that Obama discouraged Biden from running in 2016, so the fact that he's not playing a bigger role now in trying to push him out is telling.

Whenever a crime is committed, you need first to look at the evidence and then at motive - who would benefit? I just don't see how Obama would benefit from Biden stepping down. Nor do I think it was Nancy Pelosi in the Conservatory with a Candlestick.

At least not the same way downballot Democrats afraid of him being a drag on the ballot do. But Obama is a patriot, and he cares about the country and the party. And he does have some self-interest in the sense that Trump might gut Obamacare and other achievements if he wins. If Obama really felt Biden wasn't up for the job or couldn't win, I'd like to believe he'd do what he could to try to fix the situation. But he hasn't, at least thus far, and that tells me he's not as concerned as others and that's a good sign.

is that Biden was still deeply grieving the death of his son Beau. Obama saw this up close and didn’t think Biden would be up to the campaign. Maybe it had something to do with Obama’s history with Hillary as well. It seemed to be more than an intentional pass over.

I find it impossible to believe that Barack would ever stab Joe in the back given the wonderful relationship they had as P and VP during Obama's two terms. Joe always had Barack's back 100%.

the 2015 death of his son Beau. Biden didn't feel he could put his all into a presidential campaign while still trying to deal with the death of his son.

Obama pressed the issue in another private meeting. “The president was not encouraging,” Biden recalled.

But you are correct that the main reason Obama discouraged him was because he was grieving. I think Biden also speculated in his book that Obama may have made a deal with the Clintons at some point during the 2012 campaign, but I could be wrong about that.

Think. Again.

...or people are cognitively incapacipated, because no one in their right mind would be thinking or saying this stuff.

Those who are trying to claim it's reasonable to question the candidacy of a man who proves his worthiness everyday, or are trying to claim it's reasonable to consider replacing a candidate 4 months from election day, are either profoundly unaware of reality or are actively workng in favor of trump.

Something along the lines of he was going to talk to Joe about his candidacy as he was "worried", or words to that effect.

If I remember right this was before the debate even.

I think this ditch Joe crap is going to go away soon and there's still plenty of time before the election to put all this to rest.

Let me tell you about media:
Al fucking Capone captivated the press.

From: Chicago Press Treatment of the Gangster, 1924-1931
DANIEL McDONOUGH

Emphasis mine.

As Capone's power grew, he received more and more press attention. By 1929 he had become an international celebrity, and the Herald press - and particularly Examiner the - provided Tribune and the coverage of Capone's daily activities. Reporters fairly tripped over themselves to obtain interviews with the gang chief. For increased circulation, the press allowed Capone a forum in which he assumed the role of the injured innocent and presented his appeals for sympathy and understanding.

Pigs lapping up swill.

and who owns this piece of work?

Google tells me Axel Springer SE (German pronunciation: [ˈaksl̩ ˈʃpʁɪŋɐ ɛsˈeː]) is a German multinational mass and online media company, based in Berlin, Germany.

About Axel Springer SE: The company generated total revenues of about €3.93 billion and an EBITDA increase of 12.8% in the first half of 2023. Following US private-equity firm KKR's majority-stake acquisition in 2020, Axel Springer’s revenues have increased by a total of approximately €1 billion. The company, including its subsidiaries, joint ventures, and licenses, operates in more than 40 countries. (source: Wiki)

Who runs Axel Springer SE (namesake died in 1985) -- now it's Mathias Döpfner -- a German businessman, author, art collector, and journalist. He is the CEO and 22% owner of media group Axel Springer SE. From 2016 to 2022 he was president of the Federal Association of Digital Publishers and Newspaper Publishers. Wikipedia
Born: 1963 (age 61 years), Bonn, Germany
Spouse: Ulrike Dopfner
Net worth: 1.2 billion USD (2024) Forbes

I'm sure this German billionaire really cares about our democratic party.
