What in the world must they think of us in other countries

Our media is losing its mind because the President misspoke? Corrected himself.. but its stuff every single one of us do every day. Its not lack of knowledge of things important.. its a verbal flub.. Its not an attack to destroy another person.. its a verbal flub

I had to correct one of my own ops just a few minutes ago.. They must think that Americans are all a bunch of snowflakes.. Its absolutely embarrassing how some of our punditry acts.. sheesh

Cameron, May, Johnson, Truss, Sunak. Replacing your party's leader isn't that unheard of.

I’ve had a number of people ask me how a guy as old as Biden can be running for President. It’s a genuine head scratcher for them. The debate got a lot of coverage here. These same people like Biden and are praying for him to win because they think Trump is a very dangerous buffoon.

Think Biden is far gone mentally and can't understand why the Democrats don't get rid of him. They also don't understand how Trump is still as popular as he is and can't believe he might actually win again.

Basically they think we're a failing democracy with no good choices.

But they also think he's too old to be president, approaching senility, and wonder why (since they're sure he isn't gonna last four more years) we don't just cut bait and run Harris instead.

so I just put up a quick op and link on that. American elections are different .. its like moving a pyramid.. first of all.. VP Harris is not going to go along with that fairy tale some of have in their heads.. If anything goes wrong, the President gets sick, etc etc.. she is already there to take over.

Don't get me wrong about that.

But most of these countries have a Parliamentary system where Prime Ministers can be knocked off from with inside their parties all the time. They don't understand why we can't/don't do that here.

I work a lot both in EU(Germany) and the Middle East. I feel like I’m in another world when I’m on DU. I was on a video call with Germany and endured the first quarter on a large video call of our President being dragged for calling the President of Ukraine Putin and calling his VP Trump. From what they were saying other leaders were caught on video making fun of Biden as well.

I am not hearing any international support for Biden. Even Japanese colleagues expressed concern and they normally don’t bring politics up at all. The foreign press is playing the gaffs on the television constantly. This is definitely shaping my views on what others view from outside.

now and again. EVERYONE. My goodness, it is a world of dumb little children. Anyone who watched the WHOLE press conference saw a MASTERCLASS on foreign policy. But of course DUMMIES want to pick out one unintentional verbal mistake. On the Putin one, he immediately corrected himself. He didn't realize he made the mistake on the other as he was referring to how Harris could beat Trump and had just been talking about Trump. My god. The media are CHILDREN. Biased ridiculous little silly children.

This is not what is being televised internationally nor what the conversation is. My experience is not isolated to one experience. What they are evaluating is his mental competency, and calling the Ukrainian President by their biggest enemy or your VP by your biggest enemy is getting a lot of play.

But attitudes I've surmised from my travels:

1. The USA acts like the leader of the free world, but can't get its act together at home. So why do we listen to them?

2. LOL! Serves them right for messing in our elections "X" years/decades ago.

3. Good! Then maybe they will leave us alone as they are buried in their own antics.

4. Sad to see a once hopeful and thriving empire slowly die.

5. Thier loss in stature in the world is our gain.

In general, not the best. A good portion of our populace has arrogant views that do not reflect reality. For example, we give aid to nation XYZ. But the populace see's that as nothing more than a bribe and perhaps even being used to keep them down.

The US has always had a monstrous history in the Latin Americas and Caribbean.

Not much change in my homeland.
The US still has universally condemned extraterritorial sanctions on Cuba, collectively punishing an entire nation for no good reason.

It continues.

I had hope during the Obama admin, but tRump policy remains in place.

So, no change.
