Novogratz Boosts Biden Critics as Donors Boycott PresidentBloomberg) -- Galaxy Digital LP founder Mike Novogratz and filmmaker Andrew Jarecki are two donors behind a $2 million contribution to Democrats who have called for President Joe Biden to step down as the partys nominee, the latest sign donors are shifting money away from the presidential ticket.
The donation is from a group of several dozen donors, also including Sessa Capitals John Petry and hedge-fund manager Neil Chriss and his wife Natasha, to a super political action committee for House Democrats. The funds are earmarked to help vulnerable members who were among the first to say Biden should bow out of the race, according to a person familiar with the contribution.
Those lawmakers risked angering the Democratic National Committee, which is aligned with the Biden campaign, and provides significant financial support to candidates in battleground districts.
The money is slated to bolster Representatives Angie Craig of Minnesota, Marie Gluesenkamp Perez of Washington State, Jared Golden of Maine and Pat Ryan of New York.

And now these candidates will get another cash infusion due to the fact that they asked Biden to w/d
This also explains why all these house members are coming out and asking Biden to withdraw. I've never seen anything like this in my life!

wnylib
(26,468 posts)They call out Biden, jeopardizing his campaign, so we call them out, jeopardizing their campaigns.
End result could be that we lose some Dem House members and Biden might lose to Trump.
How does this help the US and the Dem Party? Looks to me like it stirs up more Dem in-fighting.
How about if we just keep backing Biden strongly and not rush to judgmental in-fighting over claims on Xitter regarding motives for donations to House Members?
None of this explains why the media have so consistently piled up on the anti Biden bandwagon, especially ones that formerly supported him. They reacted to the debate initially, but then kept going even after Biden's successful appearances later.
We're they bribed, too?
Something is still missing in this story.

(34,853 posts)Richie Torres isn't going anywhere. I'm tagging on twitter.

Plus he runs a bitcoin company (Gambler type..you know..)
The media are not recipients here. Media are free agents and are free to create whatever hysteria they want.
wnylib
(26,468 posts)the Dem House Reps named in the OP are not going anywhere and that calling them out for bribes would not hurt them. In the OP you described them as vulnerable to explain their willingness to receive the money.
Which is it? Are they vulnerable or are they secure in their positions?
LeftInTX
(34,853 posts)Perez could be vulnerable in the general election. Many are advocating to call or email these elected officials. That's exactly what I'm doing. Same thing except using twitter.
I subscribe to the Armenian National Committee action alerts. That's what we do. We tweet. They tweet. They email. We email. It works. Doesn't matter whether they're vulnerable or not.
Also we tag on twitter while the Texas lege is in session. They actually watch their phones while they're on the floor etc.

He is NOT a member of Congress. Yet. Yes, he won the primary from Jamaal Bowman June 25 and will very likely win the general election. NY CD-16 is a very blue district.

Galaxy losses widened to 554 million in Q2 of 2022 following a 182 million dollar loss for the past year.[18]
