(61,033 posts)Good work on Sen. Whitehouse's part. I understand AOC is on the case too as she's preparing articles of impeachment for Thomas and Alito. She might uncover similar information also.

Editors note: This story contains graphic descriptions of sexual violence, battery, exploitation, suicidal thoughts, and child endangerment. It draws from extensive interviews with both women, conducted between August 2023 and January 2024, and reflects their experiences and voices. Other details are taken from allegations in an ongoing lawsuit filed in U.S. district courtallegations that most of the defendants deny; other defendants had not responded to the lawsuits allegations or to Cosmopolitans request for comment at press time. In early January, a number of defendantsincluding one of the physicians alleged to have prescribed Julia Hubbard drugswere voluntarily dismissed with the womens consent.

(5,131 posts)I'm happily married to a good guy but if I became single, I would never date again. Women don't need men or their evil bullshit. We have our own money, our own houses, our own friends, and our own fun. I support the South Korean womens' 4B movement against the patriarchy -- no dating, no sex, no marriage, and no babies.
Be thankful we only want equality and not payback.

(4,259 posts)... ever gets instituted, your own money, your own houses, your own credit cards, you ow right to vote, will be history. Many of its proponents have publicly stated exactly these goals.

North Carolina Republican Rep. Madison Cawthorn claimed that he has been invited to an orgy in Washington and had personally seen leaders in the efforts to curb drug addiction doing cocaine.
Why was this story dropped like a hot potato by the MSM at the time?
To me it sounded like Cawthorn was shocked that his own party was engaging in such immoral behaviour. He was young, a true believer, and convinced of his party's moral superiority and blurted it out before GOP handlers painted him as a troubled lunatic. The MSM just agreed and moved on

They got divorced after the British tabloids turned being a royal into a living hell for her (kind of like with Diana, but they were even more vicious with Sarah, going after her about things like her weight). It's my understanding that she and Andrew have maintained a romantic relationship since the divorce, but I don't believe Sarah has any connection to Epstein other than her ex-husband's association with him, if that's what you're asking.
As far as I know, her name has never come up in connection with Andrew's Epstein-related shenanigans. I suspect she may adopted a "don't ask/don't tell" position regarding his "extracurricular" activities, but as to any personal involvement or even direct knowledge, I feel that's pretty unlikely.

(22,218 posts)for a Robespierre like house cleaning. To modify Jefferson...."The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and billionaires. It is its natural manure"
Ironically, from the same letter to John Adams son in law, Jefferson wasn't terribly happy that our then new constitution granted SCOTUS justices lifetime appointments....
"I do not know whether it is to yourself or Mr. Adams I am to give my thanks for the copy of the new constitution. I beg leave through you to place them where due. It will be yet three weeks before I shall receive them from America. There are very good articles in it: and very bad. I do not know which preponderate. What we have lately read in the history of Holland, in the chapter on the Stadtholder, would have sufficed to set me against a Chief magistrate eligible for a long duration, if I had ever been disposed towards one"

(13,600 posts)That was the title of a porn movie he mentioned to her. There was also some bizarre thing about Thomas supposedly finding a pubic hair on top of a Coke can on his desk when Hill was alone with him in his office at the EEOC and asking her, Who put this pubic hair on my Coke? This may have just been his way of humiliating her, since shed rebuffed his invitations to go on dates with him, her boss at the time. Truly a screwed-up (not to mention unethical) dude.
Anita Hill is and was such a serious, straight-arrow, sober woman that a) its ludicrous that Thomas would pull this shit with her and b) its impossible to disbelieve her.

(19,156 posts)But I don't know anything about her except her political shenanigans. If she already had the $$$$$ maybe it was just the connections.
I think at that level, don't ask don't tell has always been a thing and always will be. "You can play how you want if I get to play how I want." I'm not even criticizing that sort of arrangement, but I never assume love or physical attraction has to be there for these people.
