(8,815 posts)Remember how she tolerated a new AOC? I ain't mad at Nancy.
SHE and Hakeem held the line and the bulk of Democrats together. She didn't need to embarrass the weak-kneed "centrists". They embarrassed themselves.

(8,103 posts)Maybe she wasn't saying one way or another because she didn't want to pressure him if he wanted to quit. Isn't she 80-something herself? I just think that she was giving him room to decide for himself, even if a lot of people want him to stay. She knows what it's like to be older. Doesn't mean she wants him to quit.
Intractable
(2,103 posts)That makes me think she believes he should drop out.
She should clearly support him in his decision, or otherwise avoid being interviewed on news programs thus continuing this unnecessary drama.

(20,769 posts)Nancy Pelosi said directly and unequivocably that the decision was Joe's to make. She didn't hint, nudge-nudge, or leave doors ajar. I repeat. Her message was that it's Joe's decision.
Intractable
(2,103 posts)Her message is that it's still his decision, but he has already decided. Have yourself a good day.

(33,424 posts)She said it was his decision to make. She said that after he has said a hundred times he is staying in. Clearly that decision is not the decision she wants to hear.

(81,261 posts)And perhaps soon people will start walking some of the talk back.
Also I don't think we should have a purge list of Democrats.
Too polarizing and divisive, and we are in the fight of our lives.
We need all hands on deck.
Maybe they will change their tune.

(81,261 posts)I agree there are some sleepers.
But some good people were legitimately shocked and upset after the debate.
They needed some time to settle down and see there are no miracle options.

But then folks will say this is a discussion board and we should be able to express our opinions which is true as long we follow the TOS.
So we discuss things. Including what the OP would like to prohibit

(13,282 posts)and by the time its over the dems have settled back in line with joe or at very least shut up! If that doesn't happen they are going to make sure he loses, if they take it to the convention in August we are screwed total mess.
So my fingers are crossed.

(96,882 posts)That has yet to happen.
If Democratic elected officials and candidates say that Biden should, of his own volition, step aside, hiding the fact doesnt change it.

(3,894 posts)The Democratic Party turn-coats should all be primaried in the next election.
This election I plan to vote for President Biden and VP Harris.. and every Democratic candidate down the line. It's too important and necessary to keep our President exactly where he is the most effective for We The People and to take back the House and the Senate.

(297 posts)The only posts Ive read that said they wouldnt support the Democratic nominee in November are some that said they would not vote for our nominee UNLESS it is President Biden. You can have strong opinions about how best for Democrats to win without sounding like a Republican wanting to ban something or someone or discussing the fun of getting revenge on fellow democrats who want the same final outcome as you for which party has to win. I really feel Trumps effect on DUs dialogue and discussion. Yuck.

(34,286 posts)Actually these elected officials are worse because they're telling Biden, who won the primary, to quit the race. One congress member wants him to pull a Richard Nixon and resign from office immediately. Don't ask go..just give it all up and get out of town...

(19,900 posts)I truly believe that the White House and congressional Democrats will be on the same page soon. This isnt a rift that is going to follow us into election day. Some members feel the need to vent, and they are typically in tough races, I really dont believe that any major Democratic elected official who has spoken out is acting in bad faith, or actually wants another Trump term, in fact, I think it is quite the opposite.
