America has truly lost it's fucking mind

Company debuts vending machines selling ammunition in 3 Southern states

Vending machines selling ammunition will now be in grocery stores in Alabama, Texas and Oklahoma – a move that has generated mixed feelings from officials in those states.

American Rounds, the distributor of the machines, uses AI technology to scan the customers’ identification as well as facial recognition software to verify a customer’s identity, according to the company’s website.

The software works together to verify the buyer’s age and that the person using the machine matches the identification scanned.

Each machine sells ammunition for various firearm calibers, including rifles, shotguns and handguns, according to American Rounds.

but they consider themselves "American" and they haven't changed that much since I grew up in Amarillo Texas a half century ago. Denying that a cancer exists is not a good path to treating the cancer.

And one the you park outside of, go in and get your bottle and then drive away from?

Is it just the act of getting out of the car that makes the difference?

I don’t understand your outrage.

https://www.wctv.tv/2024/07/12/company-behind-ammo-vending-machines-says-hundreds-new-locations-are-coming/?

The company behind the American Rounds vending machines is now expanding to more states, according to CEO Grant Magers.

“We’ve had a lot of requests to expand to Florida, we have some opportunities currently there. And so, it is in the plan,” Magers said.

Magers said the company currently has more than 200 store requests from approximately nine states, and that number is growing daily.

The machines would be located in retail locations like grocery stores.

I imagine it'll be much cheaper to order in bulk and have it shipped to the house. Although if we decide to hit the range after work, it would be easier to drop by Publix, pick up a sub, some soda and a couple boxes of hardball.

Manufacturers have been raking in cash hand over fist for years in these areas by telling the yokels that liberals were about to ban ammo any day.

Added bonus is that every sale will end up in a digital database with facial photos. That's a subpoena gold mine.

I suppose they could armor the machines, but will they?

If all ammo sold through them contains taggends (sp?). Any shot in a crime would leave miniature pieces of material containing a unique serial number which could be tired to the purchaser along with id and pictures of his face.

I haven’t read where this technology was imposed on this though. Such a wasted opportunity.
