If Democrats had attacked Trump more for his emoluments clause violation of the Constitution...
It would have magnified his other violations more quickly and clearly. Unfortunately, they let him get away with it, as if it didn't matter. That was the beginning of his lawlessness in the White House, in my opinion.
The last 9 years have been a period of lawlessness in our politics. Everybody or somebody from Congress to the Supreme Court have violated our laws and our Constitution.
Trump and the Republicans made it all right. Now we are surprised that they want to terminate our Constitution and seek retribution on their political enemies. They were encouraged and emboldened by the lack of action from their political opponents, in my opinion. Now, the beast is full grown.
