(37,613 posts)It's the "moon is bigger on the horizon than high in the sky" phenomenon. Low in the sky we have a context for its angular width. High up, not a clue.

(134,022 posts)that supposedly showed a person on the observation deck of one of the towers, with a plane clearly visible behind him, just before the plane smashed into the building.
Think. Again.
(22,456 posts)...and it only took a minute for the world to realize that not only was the observation deck closed at that time, the photo of the tourist smiling was taken on the tower that hit by the second plane, no possiblilty it was a real photo.

(28,762 posts)Remember that a shot 300 yards away is heard about three quarters of a second after the bullet arives. This could have been a second round.

(11,114 posts)That someone said a teleprompter had shattered with associated glass.
It was an early unconfirmed report, but later imagery showed the teleprompters intact.

(17,802 posts)I've seen a bit of high speed footage, and I doubt a standard digital camera at a 25-100 feet would have either the resolution or frame rate to catch a bullet in flight.
Probably a light artifact in the lens.

I don't.

(28,762 posts)The guy is a NYTimes photographer. I can't identify the camera body offhand... but that's about a $10k lens.

(17,802 posts)But I get that's a stock photo.
Still, just a standard digital camera. Nothing special in terms of frame rate or resolution. Good quality professional gear.
But suited to its task, which is not high speed photography.
