Although we don’t yet know exactly what happened, we should all be relieved that former President Trump wasn’t seriously hurt, and use this moment to recommit ourselves to civility and respect in our politics. People are going to thank the Secret Service, but, although I’m glad they got President Trump out of there alive, it was an absolute failure.

This is the apparent layout of the scene.

Two snipers can be seen in video widely circulated on 𝕏 perched on the (relative) east side of the roof on the red barn behind Trump, with their rifles trained on a rough relative vector of 220 degrees to 270 degrees (southwesterly).

With the shooter being in the relative bear of 250 degrees (not relative to the Secret Service Snipers LOS, but rather the rally stage relative to relative North in the google satellite image orientated here.)

The shooter, who was reportedly on the western side (relative) of the roof, which is raised and out of LOS of the SS snipers, but in LOS of the eyewitness in front of Brenckle’s Farm’s & Greenhouses.

That witness reportedly notified police and tried to communicate to the SS on the barn roof that there was an armed gunman.

The communications do not appear to have been timely and/or effectively relayed, and the SS sniper team reacted to shots fired once the sniper came in to view to make his shot attempts.

Then, the screen service dove on Trump, can be heard giving commands to move on “ready on you, move” and then they don’t move.

Instead, other officers decked out in gear rush the stage and block the egress route momentarily.

Then, the SS finally pull Trump up, and instead of picking him up and carrying him out, they patiently wait, with his head at times exposed, as Trump pleads to put his shoes back on.

Then, after he does that, they again let him expose himself (albeit the shooter appears to be neutralized at this point) so that he can pump his fist and jazz up the crowd.

Bullets can travel through hands, other heads, and body parts.

Again, I’m glad they got Trump out safe, but for any trained operator it was a poor display.

Hats off to the SS sniper for hitting his shot and neutralizing the assailant, but the entire thing reeks of incompetence.

A former Bethel Park High School classmate of Donald Trump shooter Thomas Crooks described him on Sunday as a “loner” who was often bullied in school.

The classmate told CBS affiliate KDKA that Crooks also often wore hunting outfits to school. He provided the affiliate with photos of Crooks in school wearing a Bethel Park High School hoodie.

Crooks graduated from Bethel Park High School in 2022, where he earned a $500 award for achievements in math and science, according to a Bethel Park Journal report. The Bethel Park School District told KDKA it would cooperate with law enforcement officials in their investigation.

Quality of original photos was crap - having seen clearer photos, it's obvious the teleprompters are undamaged. The glass story appears to be garbled and erroneous, from information received in the early "heat of the moment" just after the shooting.
