Did he actually get shot, or was it shrapnel from the bullet that hit the teleprompter that hit him in the ear? Not a lot of blood for even a grazing AR-15 bullet wound.

If you visualize the projectile's (a bullet or the suspected glass shard) trajectory, it would have first grazed his cheek, then the top of his ear. Obviously, the shooter was aiming for his mouth and missed.
