If they see it will affect the midterms. If the GOP are using it to ramp up their persecution mantra, it may be better politically to forgive and move on. Denying the GOP that avenue.

I wouldn't agree with that but it is what it is

Does anyone, including Jack Smith, think that he will be tried in any court before the election in November. I doubt it very much.
