Rudy, C'mon, pack it in. Go out with what's left of your dignity. You DO NOT WANT most of the country remembering THIS Rudy Giuliani. You want most of the country remembering the Mayor Giuliani of the 9/11 attack. But too much else has happened, and unfortunately for Rudy: for too many Americans NOW, that 9/11 stuff is old news, from bygone days, and probably didn't affect them too much, and that we're all WAY beyond, now.

That was in 2001. Ancient history for many of our fellow citizens, especially those born right around then and since then. That was 23 years ago. We've got a whole new generation now able to vote - who don't remember 9/11 and don't feel the same way the rest of us who ARE old enough to remember it, and saw it happen or saw all the coverage, and lived through it still feel about it.

I sometimes wonder if that day, September 11th, 2001, will be a marker day - a division day - that separates far more than "the men from the boys." The world changed, and America changed. Life before that horrible day will always be different from life after that horrible day. Before that horrible day we were generally way more innocent, with more casual assumptions about America being a safe place in the world - where nobody attacks us and wars don't happen on OUR ground. Pearl Harbor? Yes-but. True, December 7th, 1941 was another really awful horrible shocking bloody day, a day that actually did get us into a war. But Hawaii wasn't even a state until August 21, 1959.

I’m just guessing, but I bet he has not been spending much time at the gym working on his core strength or strengthening his legs. So Rudy Colludy is no spring chicken — and balance eludes him on a good day. Have you watched this guy walk? Mix in some alcoholic beverages, as is his habit, eye sight pretty shot, too, so he didn’t notice the uneven carpet. Boom! Down goes Rudy.

I think it goes without saying that these are not Rudy’s best days.
