General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsDear Rep. Kim: you say that it's about the strategy, well here's a tip for you
The strategy is simple.
You talk about abortion, and how they want to make women carry even already dead babies to term, even if it kills them. No abortions, even for incest, rape, life of the mother.
You talk about how they want to track women - where we go, when we have our periods, and more.
You talk about the end of no fault divorce, and the desire for women to stay in even violent marriages.
You talk about the end of contraception, even for families who have kids but don't want more.
You talk about everything in Project 2025, particularly the bits that pertain to YOUR electorate and their beliefs. There's lots in it for everyone.
Then you ask them how they can say they stand for freedom, and talk about getting the government out of our lives.
Get out there, support our President, and go on offense against the GOP and their awful policies. Joe should not have to tell you that, and that's no excuse for an answer about why you want him to step down.

(10,919 posts)...we don't know if he reads DU.
He's a Democrat and he may well look to social media for cues, or one of his aides might and bring this to him. Let's not denigrate our advocacy here.
A call to his office will be a more direct approach, but calling him out here can be a way of rallying more opposition among activists and others in this Democratic space.

(10,919 posts)Ever since this Biden dropping out business started. I did quit watching teevee news and only kept up through reading news and occasional clips for about a week. I was relieved that the you-know-what story happened and took the Biden story off the front page. The stress was getting to me!

I'm a Dem Committe Member in NJ and high dollar donor. If he wants one cent out of me - he's going to have to get up Biden's ass so far he pops out of his ear.

(10,919 posts)If this regime were to take power, I and every woman would be on the fast track to becoming Property of the State. The only factor in my favor is that I'm beyond child bearing age, but that would be small comfort
Yes, there are plenty of other factors, but more than half the population in the country is women. It's a good place to start and reproductive rights are REALLY important to young women.

(10,919 posts)And instead they're wringing their hands because it doesn't look like a landslide right now. It's a recipe for disaster, because they're demoralizing the very people they need most.
It's freakin' July. After the Olympics, we go hard on offense against all of these things. That's when other people, the ones not like us, who have lives that don't embrace politics -that's when they will start paying attention. Then we'll win.

(592 posts)Isn't that what cults do? I'll support, donate and volunteer for whoever is at the top of the ticket, but the fate of the world is on the line, not Joe's ego. I think we have to talk with people out of our own bubble, especially young ones, to get an honest perspective.

(45,593 posts)to media that want nothing more than to continue fomenting chaos among Democrats?
Is that going to get Joe to drop out? No, it is not.
Kim has every right to be concerned but he should be airing those concerns in private.

(10,919 posts)Joe won the primaries overwhelmingly. We knew he was old when we voted for him to be our nominee a second time. No one was prevented from running, and that Dean Philips guy pointed out Joe's age every chance he got. We still voted for Joe.
If these other people have decided now that we need a different candidate, then they should have thought of that when the process called for it.
They want to overturn the will of the primary voters, the base of the Democratic Party. If they do this, it's January 6th without the mob violence. They will destroy the party, right at the time we should be winning it all.
