So is it all just a simple divide and conquer play?

With 2016 still very fresh in everyone's mind, is the Democratic party just under attack with a well-orchestrated re-run of pitting potential candidate supporters against each other?

1. This kind of strategy has PutinGOP fingerprints on it.

Not saying they are behind it.
But it is exactly what they would do.

...without the "concerns" of supposedly Democratic voices, Biden and his administration (including his back-up Harris if needed), would be gliding toward a win at this point.

Any true Democrat would see that a vote for the old white guy (which is a safer bet) is also a vote for the young Black woman. What more could they want?

10. No, at this point I don't know what they don't want, at all.

Their stand to make a switch to an unknown, unfunded, "other" instead of a hugely successful incumbent with even poll numbers, this late in the game, makes absolutely no sense.

They do not want the current candidate.

What we don't know is why.

OR what their plan b is.

3. Would people like Pelosi and Schiff fall for that?

I would hope not. But yes, there is an opening for divide and conquer that can and will be exploited.

It's in our best interest to stay united against the GOP, no matter what happens.

I need more antacid.

9. Yes hard to believe Pelosi would fall for manipulation and tricks.

I don't know what is going on.
Only a list of guesses.

It's deeper than that.

I have a list of guesses as well.

(Compiled with the help of other DU members.)

Possible explanations for what seems to be going behind the scenes:

1. Unknown information about current candidate.
2. Internal polling
3. Billionaire donors are done with Joe, he is too much on the side of the regular American. Like they hated FDR.
4. Putin/GOP. Divide and conquer strategy.

GQP will say their candidate had a close brush with death and they stood by him. The other one minced some words and they dumped him.
