None of this feels right!

The chaos and division that is consuming democrats right now does not feel organic. It is tearing DU apart, reminiscent of the 2016 take down of DU. It is not helping our party. We were fairly united in purpose, and in our ticket, until that debate went off the rails. That seemed to turn into a catalyst for division, but who is driving it?

This is just my own feelings and observations, so flame me if you will, I don’t really care.

I suspect the billionaire dem donors who chose to abandon President Biden, despite the millions of primary votes he has received, based on a bad performance at a 90 minute debate. Are they courting other powerful dems to do their bidding? If this were so, it goes against our founders dream of a government of, for and by the people. It goes against Joe’s goal of building from the the bottom up and the middle out. It is just the same oligarch bullshit that the republicans have chosen to cave to.

I smell Putin. I smell Musk. I smell Thiel. I smell Netenyahu. I smell Banon and Tucker. It all stinks!

If prominent dems think it is worth abandoning the power of an incumbent President to support some unnamed and unproven alternative, then why can NONE OF THEM put forth a support worthy alternative to abandoning the will of the voters? It’s all just, “Biden need to drop out” without offering a bulletproof alternative. There is no bulletproof alternative…it’s all ratfucking!

I want to live in a democracy. If you’ve got a better plan (yeah, I’m looking at you Schiff!) show us your plan, or else SHUT THE FUCK UP AND SUPPORT THE PRESIDENT! Oh, and don’t even get me started on the horse-race, money-driven MSM!

Our purpose being the defeat of Trump in November.

On that, we are steadfast.

But the earth is shifting beneath our feet, and there much disagreement on which path is the best one to take.

I survived the Loma Prieta earthquake of 1989. Some folks thought running outside was safest, others thought sheltering inside was safer (that is what is generally recommended); however, in this case, it depended on what kind of building you were in at the time.

Two hours before the quake hit, I was working at my internship downtown in a 100+ year old brick exterior building. When the quake hit, the back wall of the 3 story building that I worked in peeled off into the parking lot, leaving the building looking like a giant doll’s house. The wall connecting our offices to the neighbouring building collapsed and killed an employee in the coffee shop next door.

My point is, we just don’t know with certainty what the best path is, and there must be a conversation to sort it out. It’s terrifying given the stakes, but it must done and can’t be avoided. Emotions are bound to be raw, and we should keep that in mind as we interact with each other.

Yes, there are exceptions but many of those could just be trolls. But the real division is coming from those in power, you know, the ones we elected in good faith to represent us. But now some of them aren't. And that is very disturbing.

Posts such as yours dominate the 1st page of GD.

It appeared Biden bounced back from his debate performance with an aggressive counter attack that included interviews.

But no we see post after post about how Biden is being pushed out and how that is causing anger, stress and division amongst Democrats.

Vote Blue No Matter Who!

If it's Biden, that'd be great! Fight for him and all down ticket Dem! If it's someone else, do the same!

I’m driving this? I will ALWAYS vote blue, no matter who. I am all for Biden. I don’t understand the push to boot President Biden. If there is a valid reason for it, tell me the reason. If there is a valid (winning) alternative, present that! This vague, “Biden needs to step down” bullshit is an inadequate alternative. What is the end game? That’s all I want to know.

Nobody here can answer your questions yet you ask them.

Nobody here can influence the outcome of this situation.

All we can do bide our time while others decide. Once that decision is made, we go out and work to help that person win in the general .

I don’t think this is planned.
It is just way too lemming like.
Everybody following everybody else off the cliff because well…

The guy in front of me did it, so what could I do?

It is the Shirley Shirrod phenomenon. It is the avalanche that brought down our best messenger, Al Franken.

It is born from the belief that only a democrat has agency. Only a democrat can be to blame then.

The democrats, believing in agency, don’t want to be bogged down in some meaningless fight

about her emails,
or his jokes
or her words taken way out of context
or whatever the gop made up yesterday and planted with the WSJ

So, they decide not to fight that beauty contest
To move on
To have a fight that matters about substance

Without realizing that in a world where democrats accept that only democrats can break

the rules
Or the law

There is never going to be a legitimate substantive fight about anything.

We need to declare we don’t care what they throw at us. We stand with Joe Biden and Kamala Harris because we know they are sane and empathetic

and we know the gop is neither right now.

There wasn't any move to dump Biden until this loudmouth POS started yammering against Biden following the debate and complaining about how he was going to go to donors.

Who the hell is bankrolling HIM? Inquiring minds want to know.
