Back in the White House? Im trying to be optimistic but Im furious over Pelosi, Schiff, Schumer etal are trying to push out President Biden and have accepted the convicted felon is going to win in November?
The only solution I think that would might save us is if Harris switches places with President Biden and we have a Harris / Biden ticket but I really want President Biden to still run for president
Vote Democrats save democracy vote for the convicted felon get a dictatorship.
Vote D get Democracy
vote R get a dictatorship that ends America

(28,836 posts)I think they sincerely believe that Biden cannot win - probably internal polls in swing states - and want to do anything they can to ensure that Trump loses in November. If they didn't believe it, they wouldn't be pursuing this.
We may not agree with their conclusions or their methods, but I do not doubt at all that they truly believe this is the answer.

(7,190 posts)No one is on the same page, no one seems to be doing anything except trying to get Biden to step down. It's some of the most polltically incompetent leadership I've seen, and so typical of how Democrats so easily botch everything they touch. How many times has it been, in my lifetime, that some kind of party leadership infighting led to our Presidential candidate losing an election, or deciding not to run again? Johnson didn't run again, Humphrey lost because Wallace chose to run as an independent encouraged by some Southern Democrats, Carter got sold out by party leadership, Gore lost because of a fight among the party leadership, and we did this to Hillary Clinton.

(28,836 posts)They don't seem to have looked ahead beyond replacing President Biden. If there was a slam-dunk candidate waiting in the wings and those wanting Biden out coalesced behind that person, the situation would at least make some sense on some level. I don't see any evidence of that and I haven't seen any evidence that any replacement is better at all, much less a slam dunk.
The leadership must be sitting on something pretty big for them to press the panic button like this. It would help if they'd bother to share their reasoning with the rest of us.

(1,983 posts)They want the best possible candidate to go after Trump. They don't think that's Joe Biden.
They may be wrong. But they absolutely want to beat Trump.

(47,510 posts)Ignoring the results of the primary, trying to force the candidate who won the primary out, demonstrating lack of unity in the party. Is that going to help beating Trump?
BlueCheeseAgain
(1,983 posts)They've all made statements, or written op-eds, or done interviews.
You may not agree with their reasoning, but they've made it clear.

(47,510 posts)Schiff is on record that according to him, Biden is not winning overwhelmingly because he is old. Well, Biden was old before the primary, so WTF did they keep quiet then? So it's clear as mud as to WTF they are doing and why.

(1,983 posts)But you can see read the statements of the ones who have openly stepped out. I'd link them, but I don't want to get banned.

(7,190 posts)They're hedging bets against certainty, and being extremely naive in their "traditional" approach to politics. Trump is involved, so the traditional politics, which includes a measure of respect and trust of opponents, is out the window.. Trump has openly pushed and pushed the too old theme in the hiopes Democrats would jump and push him out because he knows he can't win against him. And now he has help. Putin has stepped in. And baive Democrats have bought it hook line and sinker.

(1,983 posts)Like I said, it's fine to disagree with them. I don't necessarily agree with them either. I was just answering the other person's question.
