(60,968 posts)I remembered my articles about how he used undocumented Polish workers to demolish the Bonwit Teller department store that stood where he built Trump Towers. Reading the NYT article on his paying over a million dollars after he lost a case, everything speaks to how bad he was - he paid them about half union rate, then stopped paying them, threatened to get them deported etc. Trump Paid Over $1 Million in Labor Settlement, Documents Reveal https://www.nytimes.com/2017/11/27/nyregion/trump-tower-illegal-immigrant-workers-union-settlement.html?smid=nytcore-android-share
From memory, he had promised NYC to save some pieces of the BT building and give them to one of the city's museums, but he simply let them be destroyed.

(8,905 posts)Biden should have ICE check up on that.

(53,214 posts)Trump doesn't care about workers and never has. He only cares about how much labor he can get out of them for the least amount of money. The way he treated those Polish workers was criminal, literally. What kind of monster does that to people?

(26,257 posts)workers and hold up tRUMP etc. election signs. Everyone saw through this though...
As predicted, tRUMP is lying, cheating, yelling, screaming, anything that grabs voters' attention to get reelected. It won't work, we all know of tRUMP's filthy schemes. Put this animal to sleep and out to pasture forever, we don't such a disruptive influence on American values. Keep up the suing, keep up the law cases where tRUMP clearly broke the law and wasn't under the fake umbrella of the Supreme Court. Sue his ass into the ground (pardon my language).
And now, perhaps that Pres. Biden seems to recognize that the Supreme Court has gone rogue, maybe he'll do something that will take the pundits back a step or two, and get things straighten out again w/ our 3-tier government.

(1,181 posts)FWIW his speech made a lot of people in that room plenty uncomfortable.
Bluethroughu
(7,215 posts)It was a great speech, and I was a little pissed at first...why would a strong Union leader speak to the scabs that vote against unions most of the time, but he put them on blast, and the Republicans cleared up any ambiguities they've used to keep union members from voting in their best interests.
Toward the end I thought the big hook would come out from behind the curtain, they could not contain their disdain for the working class for all to see on national TV.
TomSlick
(13,013 posts)I was amused by the applause; which grew fainter toward the end. There were many in the crowd that either didn't understand O'Brian or GOP policies. Trump and Vance never had a clue.
O'Brian engaged in a lot of bothsiderism.
Bluethroughu
(7,215 posts)So they would at least hear him out.
Their were a few red hats agreeing and tuned in, looking around the room to very few else agreeing. People saw that all over the country.

(7,215 posts)Tremble before your chattle,
Lord of the scheme of things!
Fighters of all earth's battles,
Ours is the might of kings!
Guided by seers and sages,
The world's heart-beat for a drum,
Snapping the chains of ages,
Out of the night we come!
Lend us no ear that pities!
Offer no almoner's hand!
Aims for the builders of cities!
When will you understand?
Down with your pride of birth
And your golden gods of trade!
A man is worth to his mother, earth,
All that a man has made!
We are the workers and makers!
We are no longer dumb!
Tremble, O Shirkers and Takers!
Sweeping the earth--We come!
Ranked in the world-wide dawn,
Marching into the day!
The night has gone and the sword is drawn
And the scabbard is thrown away!
