Absolutely great line from AOC's instagram last night...

"I'm in some of these discussions and all I hear these people talking about is about my donors want this or that, nothing about my voters want..."

I can't wait to see where she goes. Remember...when JFK was her age, he was a 2nd term Congressman from MA-11. I think she's already a couple years ahead of his trajectory.

The elite leadership of the GOP wanted their man and the base wanted Trump.

Same now, some of the leadership in the Democratic Party want Biden out and the base wants Biden.

The GOP wants chaos and the Dem wants stability.

Republicans were going to have a brokered convention to choose another candidate. But they realized that because Trump was so popular among the 80% of their base who are authoritarians they could not win without him. So the corporate Republicans put party before country and chose an authoritarian Strong Leader who is not committed to democracy.

They're tethered to that Strong Man, whether they like it or not. Even as he loses popularity with voters, he's fully in charge of the party. He's pushed out everyone who won't dance to his tune, and those who are left all have to bend to his will or else.

The Republican Party is now literally the Party of Trump. A lot of former party leaders have retired from politics rather than take orders from the Orange Hellbeast, and what's left is a mix of MAGA wing nuts and politicians who once opposed him but have chosen to take a knee and kiss his ring (and God knows what else) rather than abandon their political careers.

The situation was never more obvious than it was this week at the RNC. That convention was a joke, and a very bad one at that. A disaster, as their dear leader would say!

Winning requires women and Democrats.

I fear "no true Democrat" will result in a Trump win and Trump doesn't win without the house and Senate as well.
To paraphrase the President of the USA, it is an "all in" time. No maybes, half-ways, other roads, possibilities.
We either awake post election to the best of all possible worlds or the worst times listening to our neighbors telling us that the depression, repression, subjection, hunger and deportation are all God's plan.

I have liked her since her first term but she has grown into her role as a stand out member of Congress and a strong leader.

She is everything that people like Boebert and MTG wish they could be and never will be.

Americans say they don't want a politician. Well, the reality TV/movie character has come to life. His name is Joseph Biden. You want to fix Washington? In 2024, you'll get your chance. Have everyone you know cast a vote for Biden and be the change you've always wanted.
