Biden has been THOROUGHLY vetted. And came out remarkably clean

The demons in the GOP announced that they wanted to impeach him WAY before they even had any idea what for. And then proceeded to investigate all of their fever dreams and came up with exactly ZERO.

Biden is, remarkably, especially for a national politician at his level, quite free of personal corruption.

That is a HUGE advantage which the Democratic Party should not throw away lightly. All of their accusations that they come up with (and come up with them they will) against ANY Democratic candidate will take time to adjudicate in the court of public opinion EXCEPT for those against Biden, because we already know he is quite clean.

Even Kamala isn't vetted the same way. She has a national office, but veeps just aren't scrutinized the same way.

Republicans would be free to completely make up a scandal in October and it couldn't be dismissed as last minute propaganda because no one else has a reputation as well-established as Biden and gosh, they only had a few months to dig into this other candidate....

2. I've half-written and then deleted an OP on this aspect several times.

Biden is the most vetted Democratic candidate possible. There are no skeletons left to find. The media is reduced to his age -- which is rather well known and utterly predictable from one year to the next -- in their thirst for scandals. Meanwhile any replacement would have had less public exposure so even well known or well documented things from their past will be dragged out as "secrets revealed" and "new details!" There will be at least one "BrEaKiNg NeWs!" pseudoscandal a week between the convention and election with anyone else.

But seriously, I have had a security clearance in the past, and the worst travesty in US history was giving one to that Orange Traitor, who wouldn't otherwise have been cleared to read the historic marker in front of the White House, let alone rummage through top secrets, no doubt sell them or give them away as party favors.
