(38,718 posts)The faucet continues to leak - Lofgren's not nearly the only one today. None of this is good and can't just be waved off.

(5,060 posts)that Kamala Harris would take the Presidency in some vastly different direction than Joe Biden would want it to go?
I don't understand why Joe shouldn't be perfectly satisfied to be her close adviser when she succeeds to office. He's very interested in policy areas where she will benefit greatly from his help during his reduced working hours.

Polls do not show this. Every Democrat (aside from Michelle Obama) polls equal to or worse than Biden. So why cause all this chaos just for equal chances? It's stupid.

(5,060 posts)her incumbency invalidates all prior polling.
She'd be the first woman president. Don't you think that would bring a ton of votes her way?

(10,333 posts)...including Kamala, will face blowback because of how this is all unfolding.
And being the first woman president didn't bring a ton of votes Hillary's way -- it damn near hurt her in the end because of the hidden (and openly) bigot votes. I imagine Kamala will face the same problems -- probably even worse so because of her race as well.
And Kamala is already on the ticket. Biden doesn't need to step down for people to vote for her if they want to already, knowing that if anything were ever to happen to Biden, she would assume the presidency.

(10,333 posts)Because no Democrat polls better than Biden (aside from Michelle Obama).
Which is ignorant on its face and flies in the face of reality in a deeply divided country where sentiment is already baked in given that both candidates have been a nominee in multiple presidential races now.
Sad that so many Democrats are being led around by the nose by donors and propaganda pollsters.

(19,704 posts)I do it iwth "great respect".
So, if she gets her way (along with the others who have done the same), when we lose the election because of this, who will she blame?
And how does it feel to tell the voters of your party "your votes never mattered. Not even a little bit, if I want something different"?
Or, is she just doing this for the money some rich guy is willing to give for her betrayal?

I delete all these text msgs, I never get them in my email anymore. I had to actively unsubscribe in the 2020 elections.
But I always vote in every election and it's always up and down the ticket for Dems.
We had our Primary a few months ago, and Californians overwhelmingly voted for Biden.
California Dem leadership know this, so these open letter pleas begging Biden to drop out is beyond troubling.
What's their game? They think they're gonna just slip in and nominate a super hero with multi billions just in the nick of time? Who would that be pray tell? Someone that California didn't get the opportunity to vote for in the primary?
and what about all these other states that had already voted in their primaries?
Who? I know they don't want Kamala Harris. I think that's primarily the issue right there.
Biden wins, and something happens to him health wise and Kamala steps in.
Big donors don't want her near the oval office. Why the hell didn't they game this out before now?
