Prexit
Lifelong California Democrat here, in the first half of my seventh decade. Recalling rolling my bicycle with a "Kennedy" sign at the end of my first decade, and listening to my Granny share her experiences living in the mid-west, before and during the Decade of Dust and the Great Depression. The conclusion of each story was a vow never to cast a vote for a Republican. Her conclusion has been borne out over and over. I'm just an observer of news and politics, and the ways both have been changed, maybe subverted, maybe perverted. I watched with interest as the UK started down a path to divorcing themselves from the EU; "Brexit", they cleverly christened it. And they began eviscerating their government, institutions, and society. They displayed their dirty laundry to the world. They disparaged their representatives and discharged copious amounts of misinformation, disinformation, detritus, drivel and gibberish upon an increasingly traumatized citizenry. They downplayed the complexity, the staggeringly incomprehensible task of unwinding their relationships with their EU neighbors, allies, rivals, and the global trading community......... anyway, you get it. It cost them greatly. And they never realized "The Dream". Whatever trust, respect and clout they claimed was seriously damaged, and continues to this day, as they go a-begging for fair trade deals alone around the globe. This is a brain-worm that has now infected every country with "Free Speech", and has now metastasized into "Prexit." here in America. Same plan, refitted to diminish our faith in our President, our candidate, our government, our Electoral system, and divide us and destroy our chances to save our Democracy. If Columbo was on the job here, I'm pretty sure he would be asking "who is the beneficiary of this situation?". In all the blathering on this subject, NOBODY has a plan or a candidate that CAN, or WILL even claim to be a better way through this, even if it is legally possible. Prexit, dumping Biden, will be a text-book case in Dumb-Fuckery, just like Brexit. Considering this is seriously NOT the work of competent leadership, and blabbing it to the world is worse yet. Maybe we're not worthy of a decent man willing to give what's left of his Life (and suffer the slings-and arrows) to Save Our Democracy and give us a shot at a better life. It really, really needs to be stopped yesterday, and we need to find and stiffen our spine and PROUDLY support our nominee if he agrees to lay his future at our feet to save ours. Shut Up And GET OUT THE VOTE. That's our ONLY HOPE. (Apologies for Caps... I can't over-emphasize the peril in these moments.)
