I know others have posted about EarlGs OP. This is my effort to keep it kicked. I encourage folks to read the entire OP.

A sample of EarlGs reasoning and associated links. You will find D Rep Jim Himes mentioned. Red faced Himes was on TV last week saying Biden needs to step down.

July 12, 2024: Democratic Party strangling itself': Rage at donors 'bribing politicians' to oust Biden
"....Never-Trumpers were rattled Thursday amid a report that a group of Democratic donors pledged millions to lawmakers who've defected or criticized President Joe Biden. A group of 30 donors in New York including crypto billionaire Mike Novogratz, Hollywood filmmaker Andrew Jarecki, and donor and operative Gideon Stein have pledged $2 million to a House Democrat Super PAC to support Democrats who criticized Biden, Jake Sherman reported for Punchbowl News...."
July 13, 2024: Wanna-be oligarchs. Silicon Valley and Crypto bros are major players in this election.
Under the average voter radar is extreme influence peddling, lobbying of of the Silicon Valley and Crypto bros, one of which is Rep. Jim Himes, who told Biden to step down.
Citizens need to keep an eye on this!
They are part of the big money donors trying to turn Dems away from Biden in order to get Crypto deregulated. If they succeed, the consequences are completely unpredictable. They stand to take over banking, and replace the dollar as an international currency. Could also usher in collapse of currencies, and a wave of untraceable financial crime.
July 18, 2024: Some threads: Polling and the Crypto boys
The polling that is freaking out Nancy and Adam, is being conducted by BlueLabs Analytics https://bluelabs.com
- BlueLabs received funding from Sequoia Capital, a Silicon Valley venture tech firm that funds crypto start-ups. https://www.opensecrets.org/campaign-expenditures/vendor?vendor=BlueLabs+Analytics
(Rep. Jim) Himes was the first to start the un-nominate Biden ball rolling. He is a former Goldman Sachs banker, and advocate for the US central bank to adopt digital currency.
-snip-
July 19, 2024: Fmr Rep Sean Patrick Maloney former chr of DCCC is now a big cryto bro & may be behind today's anti-Biden text messages
Sean Patrick Maloney, an adviser to Coinbase, is nominated as the U.S. representative to the OECD, which is building regulatory frameworks for crypto.
(snip)
On the same day that Biden publicly announced Maloneys nomination last May, cryptocurrency trading platform Coinbase announced their appointment of Maloney to their five-person Global Advisory Council. Less than a month later, the Securities and Exchange Commission charged Coinbase with operating as an unregistered securities exchange
In other words, it's not Biden's age that these big donors have a problem with, it's his policies (increase taxes on the rich, regulate cryptocurrencies). They want him out, and replaced with someone more friendly to their interests.

(26,525 posts)Well-researched with links. It's a universe (crypto) I don't profess to know a thing about!
I sent it to some old college friends who are on the Pass the Torch side of things.
Anxiously awaiting their feedback.
Also sent them Nancy's tweet from last night/this morning, indicating support for Joe.
And the article from USA Today referencing 7 Dem party chairs in swing states supporting Biden staying in.
Jfc what a cluster!

(1,211 posts)These same dynamics were in play before the debate. And it is not just the "Donor Class", the "Media class" and "Democratic Officials Class".
Posts like these, I think, unfairly stigmatize our Democratic Leaders and attribute ulterior motives that to them.
I see lots of Media that say Biden should stay in the race. There are many journalist that have pride in the honesty of their reporting.
If there was a replacement, the replacement would likely be a lot like Biden.
And If you think they suddenly found a better way to undermine Dems chances and are jumping on the opportunity, you should take a look at what those chances would be otherwise.
Donors like Cloony are not hoping that Dems lose. Everyday people are not hoping that Dems lose.
When looking for reasons, it would be better to just look at it simply.

(7,973 posts)1. If TFG/Vance are elected, P25 goes into effect day 1. XX
2. If Biden/Harris are elected, P25 DOES NOT go into effect. Good
3. If Dems run a new slate, Heritage will sue all the way to the corrupt SC ending up like Bush v Gore. And pissed-off African-American/women voters won't turn out if Kamala is thrown under the bus. Democracy loses, and P25 goes into effect. XX
I don't want to take chances on option 3.
If there is a foolproof plan to prevent P25 by changing candidates, I haven't seen it.

(10,960 posts)That rotates around a center that's avoided. Sure, there are lots of dots connected, lines drawn, patterns found.
And it's lovely to observe.
If you're really, really trying to avoid the center of things.

A lot of this stuff floating around seems like a lot of playing with yarn. It's nice. It's diverting. Dunno if it's particularly useful. But . . . it's nice.

(10,960 posts)I think people are focusing on an opportunistic infection because they want to avoid discussion of the disease that opened the door to it.
It doesn't mean the infection isn't important, serious, and requires treatment. What's outlined in the OP is still bad.
But that is not the underlying cause. That's what we're discussing because the cause is unmentionable for the discomfort it generates.
Ninga
(9,012 posts)Historically, not always, but historically, people with disabilities are often overlooked and treated dismissively. I do not know what this underlying disease is, you cite.
Yes the debate was shocking. It was also shocking when Bush the Elder threw-up all over the Prime Minister of Japan.

I have to trust my own gut. We each have our methods, dont we?
And just to reiterate something. I really don't know if this replacing of a candidate - particularly in the manner it is being pushed - is helpful to us in November. I've spoken against it repeatedly, that it's too late for this sort of thing.
I'm just bristling at the fact that we're kind of discouraged from having an honest dialogue that everyone in this country - and certainly everyone in our party - is having right now. So we have to talk around it and find more peripheral things to discuss, and I think people are mistaking those peripheral things for main things. A salad isn't a steak.
It is what it is. But conspiracies beget conspiracies, and everything's taking a weird turn. As a "reality-based" person, not super fond of it. Although, to be fair, some of it is genuinely funny. "Is AI responsible for Congressional statements" like a robot secretary somewhere is sending out notes on letterhead. That one made me laugh.

(22,181 posts)behind all the Biden angst. So far, other than some sites I've never heard of, nothing. And Dems?.....crickets. And it's not like politicians are good at keeping secrets, even or maybe especially Dem politicians. Blowing the lid on it would kinda put an end to all this, so you'd think those who would like to would. Sorry, but feels very very conspiracy theory to me and I make point not to fall for such things hook, line and sinker until confirmed by multiple reputable sources. Apologies to local admin of course.

As long as we do our job and get out the vote in November, and we need to convince the independents that their best interest is in voting for Biden along with us.
If we can do that, Biden gets 4 more years and Chump's political career is over.
