Trump has said he'll pardon those convicted for crimes having to do with storming the Capitol, but he has yet to be asked about pardoning people like Enrique Tarrio and Stewart Rhodes. Having these people out of prison to reconstitute themselves as some form of MAGA shock troops should concern all of us. MAGA hasn't been shy about its voter suppression efforts, and there would be nothing to keep an revived and emboldened Proud Boys from performing this task knowing Trump can legally ask his Justice Department to ignore them to focus on other issues like deportation camps. In his first term Trump abused the president's pardon power to free anti-democratic cronies like Roger Stone and Steve Bannon. Do you think he won't use it to have a personal brown shirt army at his disposal?

(28,836 posts)Everyone already knows all they need to know about Trump, and nearly half the voters don't care. If voters haven't figured out Trump by now, bashing them over the head with the same stuff over and over again isn't going to change that.
Democrats need to (and already attempt to) get across what they will do to improve things for voters. Some voters need reasons to vote *for* someone and not just *against* Trump. We need to give them reasons to show up and vote, because turnout is the key.

(1,425 posts)...you're beyond help. Talking about the authoritarian plans of the opposition is the ballgame, not talking about puppies and flying cars.

If you want to lose in November - and lose big - keep insisting that Trump should be the only focus.
